Is blood sugar 7 high?

I believe that many people do not know what the symptom of high blood sugar level 7 means. This has a great impact on everyone's regulation of blood sugar concentration, so it is recommended that everyone should learn more about relevant medical knowledge. Blood sugar level is high at 7 points, but it is not very serious. As long as we adjust our diet and exercise appropriately, we can slowly control the blood sugar concentration.

Since the normal range of fasting blood sugar is 3.9-6.1mmol/L, the following situations should be considered when the blood sugar value is over 7:00:

If your fasting blood sugar level is over 7, then it is a little high. You should eat regularly and exercise moderately, so that you can slowly control it.

If 7 o'clock is the blood sugar level two hours after a meal, then this is considered normal.

So you should check your blood sugar level once when fasting and two hours after a meal to determine whether your blood sugar level is high.

The normal blood sugar value refers to the blood sugar value of 3.9 to 6.1 mmol/L when a person is fasting. The blood sugar value has guiding significance for the treatment and observation of diseases. A fasting whole blood glucose level exceeding 11.1 mmol/L is diabetes.

Normal value

Normal fasting blood sugar

① Generally, the fasting whole blood glucose level is 3.9-6.1 mmol/L (70-110 mg/dL), and the plasma glucose level is 3.9-6.9 mmol/L (70-125 mg/dL).

② Fasting whole blood glucose ≥6.7 mmol/L (120 mg/dL) and plasma glucose ≥7.8 mmol/L (140 mg/dL), repeated measurements twice can be diagnosed as diabetes.

③ When the fasting whole blood glucose is above 5.6 mmol/L (100 mg/dL) and the plasma glucose is above 6.4 mmol/L (115 mg/dL), a glucose tolerance test should be performed.

④ When fasting whole blood glucose exceeds 11.1 mmol/L (200 mg/dL), it means that insulin secretion is very little or lacking. Therefore, when fasting blood sugar is significantly elevated, diabetes can be diagnosed without the need for other tests.

Normal blood sugar level after meal

1 hour after meal: blood sugar 6.7-9.4 mmol/L. The maximum value does not exceed 11.1mmol/L (200mg/dl). 2 hours after meal: blood sugar ≤7.8 mmol/L. 3 hours after meal: Returns to normal after the third hour, and each urine sugar is negative.

Normal blood sugar levels for pregnant women

① For pregnant women, fasting blood sugar should not exceed 5.1mmol/L.

② 1 hour after meal for pregnant women: The blood sugar level 1 hour after meal is generally used to detect diabetes in pregnant women. Authoritative data show that the normal blood sugar level for pregnant women should not exceed 10.0mmol/L 1 hour after meal.

③ 2 hours after a meal for pregnant women: The normal blood sugar level after a meal is generally not allowed to exceed 11.1mmol/L, and the normal blood sugar level for pregnant women 2 hours after a meal is not allowed to exceed 8.5mmol/L.

Diagnostic criteria

1. Age ≥45 years old; body mass index (BMI) ≥24; previous history of IGT or IFG; or glycosylated hemoglobin Alc between 5.7 and 6.5%;

2. Those with a family history of diabetes;

3. Those with low high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL) (<0.9mmol/L) and/or triglycerides (>2.8mmol/L);

4. People with blood pressure ≥140/90mmHg) and/or cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases;

5. Pregnant women aged ≥30 years with a history of gestational diabetes; women who have given birth to large babies (≥4kg); women with unexplained delayed labor; women with polycystic ovary syndrome;

6. Not participating in physical activities all year round;

7. Use of drugs such as glucocorticoids and diuretics; people at high risk of diabetes should check islet function (C-peptide secretion test) at least twice a year for early diagnosis and treatment.
