What is the reason for high alanine aminotransferase

What is the reason for high alanine aminotransferase

There are many reasons for high alanine aminotransferase. If there is acute hepatitis or some medications cause damage to the liver, these symptoms will be caused. Therefore, scientific solutions should be paid attention to, especially when some hepatitis symptoms appear, you should be more vigilant.

1. Simply high transaminase levels (abnormal liver function) cannot be used to determine whether a person has hepatitis. To be sure of hepatitis, the following three points must be met at the same time. That is, there are symptoms and signs of hepatitis (such as low-grade fever, aversion to oil, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, poor appetite, swollen and painful liver, etc.) and clinical diagnosis (such as acute icteric type, chronic protracted type, etc.); increased serum transaminase; etiological diagnosis (the presence of anti-hepatitis A antibodies is type A, and the presence of positive hepatitis B virus surface antigen, e antigen and core antibody is type B). Some people simply have high transaminase levels, but it is possible that there are interferences due to factors such as excessive drinking, strenuous exercise, working night shifts, colds, or taking certain oral medications before the test.

2. Alanine aminotransferase is mainly found in the liver, heart and skeletal muscle. Damage or necrosis of liver cells or certain tissues will increase the alanine aminotransferase in the blood. There are many clinical diseases that can cause abnormal transaminase and must be identified.

3. Viral hepatitis is the most common disease that causes elevated alanine aminotransferase (ALT). All types of acute and chronic viral hepatitis can lead to elevated alanine aminotransferase (ALT).

4. Toxic hepatitis: Many drugs and chemical agents can cause elevated levels of alanine aminotransferase (ALT), but after drug withdrawal, elevated levels of ALT can return to normal.

5. People who drink a lot or for a long time have elevated alanine aminotransferase (ALT).

6. Liver cirrhosis and liver cancer When liver cirrhosis is active, alanine aminotransferase (ALT) usually increases and should be actively treated.

7. Acute attacks of cholecystitis and cholelithiasis, a biliary disease, often cause fever, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, jaundice, and elevated blood bilirubin and alanine aminotransferase (ALT).

8. Heart disease: Acute myocardial infarction, myocarditis, and heart failure may cause elevated levels of alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase. Patients often experience chest pain, palpitations, shortness of breath, and edema. Cardiac examination showed positive signs and abnormal electrocardiogram.
