What causes nosebleeds when washing face

If you have a nosebleed when washing your face or doing anything in your daily life, you should be careful, because if the nosebleed is due to pathological reasons, the harm caused will be great. For example, dry climate, high blood pressure or side effects of arteriosclerosis may cause nosebleeds.

1. Nosebleeds are usually caused by external injuries, such as a blow to the nose. Excessively dry weather (causing the nasal membrane to crack), sudden changes in air pressure, picking the nose with fingernails, or blowing the nose too hard can also injure the nasal mucosa and cause bleeding. For some people, nosebleeds will drip blood onto their mouths, chins, and clothes, which looks quite scary.

2. There are two types of nosebleeds: anterior and posterior. The posterior type mainly affects the elderly, especially those with hypertension. In this type, blood flows from the back of the nose, down the back of the mouth and into the throat, regardless of the patient's position. In severe cases, the direction of blood flow may be both front and back. This type of nosebleed requires hospital attention.

3. Common nosebleeds are of the anterior type, which flow out from the front of the nose. When standing or sitting, blood flows from one or both nostrils. When lying down, blood may flow into the throat. This type of nosebleed can be scary, but it's not serious.

4. Whether the nosebleed is caused by dry climate, side effects of high blood pressure or arteriosclerosis, or accidentally breaking the nasal cavity, the following tips for stopping the bleeding are helpful for all types of nosebleeds.
