What is viral myocarditis

Viral myocarditis is a chronic inflammatory disease caused by viral infection and is relatively common in clinical practice. Many people are also unclear about what viral myocarditis is. Generally speaking, viral myocarditis is also related to the hepatitis virus.

1. Arboviruses (20%):

Such as yellow fever virus, dengue virus, phlebotomycin virus, epidemic hemorrhagic fever virus, etc. Arboviruses are a group of arthropod-borne viruses, which are classified into certain member viruses of the Togaviridae, Flaviviridae, Bunyaviridae and Arenaviridae families. The main arboviruses classified in the genus Alphavirus of the family Togaviridae are Eastern equine encephalitis virus, Western equine encephalitis virus and Venezuelan encephalitis virus, which are mainly distributed in Africa and the Americas. The viruses classified in the genus Flavivirus of the family Togaviridae include Japanese encephalitis virus, forest encephalitis virus, dengue virus, yellow fever virus, St. Louis encephalitis virus, West Nile encephalitis virus, etc.

2. Hepatitis virus (10%):

Including hepatitis A, B, C and delta viruses, hepatitis viruses refer to pathogens that cause viral hepatitis. Human hepatitis viruses are divided into type A, type B, non-A non-B and type D viruses. Hepatitis A virus is spherical, has no envelope, and its nucleic acid is single-stranded RNA. The hepatitis B virus is spherical and has a double-layer shell structure. The outer layer is equivalent to the envelope of a general virus, and the nucleic acid is double-stranded DNA. Non-A, non-B hepatitis virus and hepatitis D virus are currently under study.

3. Rabies virus (10%):

It is a serotype/genotype 1 virus in the genus Lyssavirus of the family Rhabdoviridae, while types 2 to 6 are called "rabies-related viruses" and are currently only found in Africa and Europe. The rabies virus constitutes a transmission link of rabies between wild animals (wolves, foxes, weasels, bats, etc.) and domestic animals (dogs, cats, cows, etc.) and humans. People are mainly infected after being bitten by sick or poisonous animals. Once infected, if effective prevention and control measures are not taken in time, it can lead to serious acute infectious diseases of the central nervous system with a high mortality rate. In developing countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America, tens of thousands of people die from rabies every year.
