What are the possible causes of right abdominal pain?

Abdominal pain always accompanies every cycle of the body. From infants to the elderly, everyone will experience abdominal pain. The causes of abdominal pain are very complicated, and are basically related to people’s internal diseases. For example, some people often experience right abdominal pain, which may be related to an organ inside the abdominal cavity. Here I will briefly explain to you the possible causes of right abdominal pain.

1. Acute gastroenteritis

- Abdominal pain, mainly in the upper abdomen and around the navel, presents as paroxysmal spasmodic pain, accompanied by loss of appetite, abdominal distension, nausea and vomiting, acute watery diarrhea, or accompanied by fever, dizziness, weakness, mostly caused by alcoholism, irritating or unclean food and drugs.

2. Chronic gastritis

Distension or pain in the upper abdomen, especially after meals, fullness, belching, acid regurgitation, loss of appetite, nausea, pale tongue, loose stools, or anemia and weight loss.

3. Peptic ulcer disease

- Long-term and recurrent upper abdominal pain and distension in a cyclical manner, lasting for several days, weeks or longer, followed by a long period of relief, which is more common in spring and autumn. There is an obvious correlation and rhythm between pain and diet. The pain of duodenal ulcer occurs between meals and is relieved after eating. The pain of gastric ulcer often occurs within 1 hour after meals and is gradually relieved after 1 to 2 hours. It is accompanied by increased salivation, nausea, belching, nausea and vomiting.

4. Bacillary dysentery

- Fever, body temperature is usually above 38℃, nausea and vomiting, followed by paroxysmal abdominal pain and diarrhea. The abdominal pain is mainly around the umbilicus and in the left lower abdomen. There are 10 to 20 bowel movements a day with bloody and purulent stools in small amounts, and a noticeable feeling of tenesmus. The disease mostly occurs in summer and autumn, and the patient has a history of unclean diet.
