What is the reason why oral ulcers do not heal for a long time? These factors should be taken seriously

Many people suffer from recurrent oral ulcers which cannot be cured for a long time. In this case, we should be alert to these factors: whether they are too nervous, under great pressure, have low immunity or lack of vitamin B, and take preventive measures.

1. Endocrine changes.

Some women will experience oral ulcers during their menstrual period or before and after their menstrual period. Medication can only provide temporary relief, but the symptoms will reappear during the next month's menstrual period and the pain is unbearable. At the same time, it is often accompanied by annoying symptoms such as dry mouth, upset, irritability and dry stools. This may be related to the increase in progesterone levels and the decrease in estrogen levels before menstruation.

Studies have shown that estrogen treatment can produce good results for patients with recurrent oral ulcers before menstruation. For women during pregnancy, estrogen levels will increase, so patients who often suffer from oral ulcers will often see significant improvement in symptoms during pregnancy.

Second, it is genetic factors.

If both parents suffer from recurrent oral ulcers, their children have about 80%-90% chance of suffering from the disease; if one parent suffers from the disease, their children have about 50%-60% chance of suffering from the disease.

3. Mental factors.

Some patients will only become ill when they are under mental stress, mood swings, or have poor sleep, which may be related to autonomic dysfunction.

Fourth, some other factors.

Including lack of trace elements zinc, iron, folic acid, vitamin B12, etc., may reduce immune function and increase the possibility of recurrent oral ulcers.

Experts say that oral ulcers are very harmful, and patients should develop good living habits and take measures to prevent oral ulcers.
