How long is the interval between two gravel crushings?

Lithotripsy can be regarded as the most effective way to treat stones in today's medicine. However, when the stones in a person's kidney are too large, it is not suitable to completely crush the stones in the first time. In this case, it usually takes two lithotripsy sessions to completely break up the stones in the patient's body. If the interval between the two lithotripsy sessions is too close, it will damage the urinary system. So how long is the interval between the two lithotripsy sessions?

Intervals that are too short can damage the urinary system. Generally, an interval of about 2 weeks is appropriate.

concept

Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy is a high-tech technology in the 1980s. In February 1980, it was first used by Chaussy et al. in Munich, Germany for the clinical treatment of kidney stones with good results. In 1983, the country's Dornier company successively manufactured HM3, HM4 and other types of lithotripters. ESWL has greatly promoted the progress of urinary tract stone treatment and opened a new chapter in physical medicine.

Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy was first performed using a water tank structure and X-ray positioning. The patient suffered great pain and injury during the treatment and required anesthesia before the operation. Later, after improvements, a water bag structure appeared and quickly became the mainstream of lithotripsy. Shock wave sources can be roughly divided into three types: hydraulic, electromagnetic, and piezoelectric. The positioning system includes X-ray positioning, B-ultrasound positioning, and a dual positioning system with both X-ray and B-ultrasound. The focusing system is divided into two categories: emission cup focusing and lens focusing. The emergence of water-filled lithotripsy has greatly reduced the pain and injury of patients.

history

my country's medical technicians began researching extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy as early as the early 1980s, and in 1985 they produced their own lithotripsy machines for clinical use. Since then, extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy has developed rapidly in my country. At present, there are dozens of lithotripsy manufacturers in China, and most large and medium-sized hospitals have professional extracorporeal lithotripsy departments.
