Why does my ear hurt and itch?

If you experience pain and itching in your ears, the most common reason is getting angry. People are under a lot of pressure nowadays and it is easy to get angry. You need to reduce the heat in time, drink more water, exercise more, and develop good living habits.

1. Drink more boiled water

You must drink more water in winter. Drinking water can speed up the body's metabolism, cool down the heat in the body, and relieve your irritability. Therefore, it is recommended that you drink at least 1200 ml of water every day.

2. Put a basin of water in the room

In winter, getting a sore throat is mostly caused by "dryness". In addition to replenishing water for the body, the dry air should also be humidified to help the body resist the threat of pathogens. You can use a humidifier, put a basin of water, open windows for ventilation, etc. to ensure that the humidity is between 30% and 60%.

3. Go to bed early and get up late

Staying up late will deplete Yin energy, and the liver will not get enough rest, causing symptoms of excessive liver fire such as dizziness, dry eyes, irritability, and red eyes. In winter, you should extend your sleep time appropriately. It is recommended to go to bed before 10 pm and get up after 6 am.

4. Exercise moderately

Taking more walks, jogging, and practicing Tai Chi can help you relieve your depression, put out the heat in your body, and strengthen your physical fitness. At that time, you have to pay attention to two points. First, when you get up in the morning to exercise, you must wait until the sun comes out before doing it. Second, you need to sweat a little during exercise.

5. Rub your belly often

When facing constipation caused by getting angry, you can try to gently rub your stomach to increase gastrointestinal motility. The heat will often dissipate after the bowel movement. The method is: use one hand to draw circles clockwise outward with the navel as the center, and persist for more than 5 minutes until the abdomen feels slightly warm. Massage in the morning and before bed is more effective.

6. Massage the fire-reducing points

Regularly pressing three acupoints has the effect of reducing heat: 1. Zhaohai point, located on the inner side of the foot, in the depression below the tip of the inner ankle; 2. Yongquan point, located on the front 1/3 of the sole of the foot, on the line connecting the two sides of the foot edge; 3. Hegu point, that is, the base of the thumb. The massage time should not be too long, nor should the force be too strong. It is appropriate to feel a slight soreness after 5 to 10 minutes.

It should be noted that many people tend to reduce heat indiscriminately without thinking. Although some widely circulated methods have their merits, they are not suitable for everyone. If used incorrectly, they may add fuel to the fire or cause alternating cold and heat in the body. The following three wrong behaviors are the most common:

7. Eat bitter food to reduce internal heat

Bitter foods can clear the heart and reduce heat, such as lettuce, romaine lettuce, bitter melon, etc., but we cannot use them for a long time or eat too much, especially the elderly. Eating too much will damage their spleen and stomach, causing nausea, vomiting and other uncomfortable symptoms.

8. Rely on herbal tea to reduce internal heat

Herbal tea is mostly made of honeysuckle, chrysanthemum, scutellaria, etc. It is cold in nature and suitable for patients with real fire. However, for patients with false fire, drinking herbal tea may make things "even colder" and may also cause stomach pain, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Women during menstruation and people suffering from colds should not drink herbal tea.
