What causes sciatica?

In our daily life, we must pay attention to the occurrence of sciatica. If sciatica is not treated in time, it will cause a series of diseases in the body, such as lumbar disc herniation, body joint stiffness and so on. But many people wonder why sciatica occurs? Let’s take a look at what causes this.

1. Mental factors. This is a common cause of sciatica. For example, patients with hysteria may also complain of low back pain as their main complaint, but there are no objective signs, or the objective examination and subjective description cannot be explained by physiological anatomy and pathological knowledge. This kind of low back pain is often a manifestation of hysteria.

2. Caused by diseases of the spinal bones and joints and surrounding soft tissues. Local injuries caused by contusion and sprain, bleeding, edema, adhesion and muscle spasm are all causes of sciatica.

3. Caused by diseases of internal organs. For example, infection or tumor of the uterus and its appendages can cause pain in the lumbar region, and such patients often have corresponding gynecological symptoms at the same time. This is one of the more common causes of sciatica.

Treatments for sciatica

1. Bed rest to treat sciatica:

Patients with sciatica should rest more, especially in the early stages of disc herniation, lying on a hard bed for 3-4 weeks. Some patients' symptoms can be relieved on their own.

2. Drug treatment for sciatica:

Currently, this treatment method is also the best treatment for sciatica. It can quickly penetrate the bone tissue structure, thoroughly remove deep pathogenic factors, warm the meridians and activate the collaterals, dispel wind and cold, dissolve protruding and hyperplastic bones, and effectively relieve rheumatism and bone diseases. The effect is significant and reliable.

3. Blockade and physical therapy to treat sciatica:

This method can be used in the acute phase, but a blockade injection is to inject the drug directly into the spinal canal or around the nerve root to achieve local anesthesia to achieve analgesic effect. The symptoms return immediately after the blocking effect of the drug wears off.
