Western medicine treatment of leukoplakia of tongue

1. For simple epithelial hyperplasia or simple white keratosis, all local irritants should be removed and smokers should quit smoking.

2. Leukoplakia suspected of malignancy, such as warty, granular and erosive lesions, should be treated with surgical excision, cryotherapy or CO2 laser therapy. Patients who have been treated should be followed up regularly to detect recurrence early and provide treatment.

3. Apply 0.3% retinoic acid ointment topically for one to several weeks and the white spots will disappear. Vitamin A has the effect of inhibiting epithelial keratinization. After stopping medication, the subsided lesions may recur, and vitamin A acid may still be effective.

4. Vitamin A and vitamin E. Vitamin A can maintain the integrity and soundness of the epithelial tissue structure. Some people believe that it plays a certain role in preventing epithelial malignant changes. Vitamin E has a good effect on the body's metabolism and has a strong antioxidant effect. It can prevent the oxidation of vitamin A and facilitate its absorption. Take 250,000 U of vitamin A orally, 3 times a day. Take 50 mg of vitamin E three times a day.
