What are the indicators of diabetes?

What are the indicators of diabetes?

There are actually several detection indicators for diabetes, because diabetes has a great impact on the body and the scope of impact is also relatively wide. General testing indicators for diabetes include weight, glucose, glycosylated hemoglobin, etc. Only when these indicators are stable can the patient's condition receive stable treatment.

Monitor your weight:

Obese diabetic patients should measure their body weight once a month and should plan to lose weight. Body mass index (BMI) = weight (kg) / height (m2). The ideal BMI (kg/m2) for men should be <25 and for women should be <24.

Monitoring of HbA1c:

Glycated hemoglobin can stably reflect the patient's average blood sugar level over the past 2 to 3 months and reflect the state of glucose metabolism in the body. Based on the test results, the doctor can determine whether the patient's health care plan is effective, whether he or she is eating properly, exercising properly, whether his or her blood sugar is well controlled, and whether the patient's treatment plan needs to be adjusted.

Heart monitoring:

Diabetes and coronary heart disease are equally dangerous diseases. Diabetes patients need to lower blood sugar and protect the heart. Diabetic patients must undergo a heart examination once a year.

Monitoring the feet:

Diabetic foot refers to lower limb infection, ulcer formation and/or deep tissue destruction caused by combined neuropathy and various degrees of peripheral vascular disease in diabetic patients. Prevention of diabetic foot is more important than treatment. Diabetic patients must check their feet every day to see if there are any abnormalities; they should be checked by a specialist every 4 to 6 months.

Monitoring fundus:

Diabetic patients are at high risk of eye diseases. Once diagnosed with diabetes, the patient should undergo a fundus examination every six months.
