How to treat acne pimples?

Acne is a very common skin disease, but many friends do not take it seriously, thinking that such a disease will always disappear on its own. This idea is wrong. Acne will cause obvious pimples and may also cause dull pain. If you want to effectively treat acne, you can use some relatively stable drugs, such as vitamin A acid drugs and benzoyl peroxide, etc.

1. External medication treatment

1. Retinoic acid drugs: This type of drug can regulate the differentiation of epidermal keratinocytes, dissolving and expelling acne. Some varieties of marine oil have anti-inflammatory and sebum-reducing effects. Common side effects are local irritation and photosensitivity.

2. Benzoyl peroxide is a peroxide. After external application, it can slowly release new ecological oxygen and benzoic acid, which has the effects of killing Propionibacterium acnes, dissolving acne and astringent. Common side effects are bleaching of clothing and local irritation.

3. Antibiotics: Erythromycin, chloramphenicol or clindamycin (chloramphenicol) for external use have been proven to be effective in treatment.

4. Other drugs: such as azelaic acid, sulfur, and dapsone are also used for treatment.

(ii) Oral medication

1. Antibiotic treatment

Considering the pharmacokinetics of antibiotics, especially their selective distribution in the areas of seborrhea, tetracyclines should be the first choice, followed by macrolides. Others such as sulfamethoxazole-trimethoprim (cotrimoxazole) and metronidazole may also be used as appropriate, but β-lactam antibiotics should not be chosen. Among tetracyclines, first-generation tetracyclines such as tetracycline have poor oral absorption and low sensitivity to Propionibacterium acnes; second-generation tetracyclines such as minocycline, doxycycline and lymecycline should be given priority.

2. Retinoic acid

Oral isotretinoin is the standard treatment for severe acne and is currently the most effective treatment for acne. Isotretinoin acts on all pathological and physiological links of acne. Although its therapeutic effect is significant, considering its adverse reactions, it is not used as the first choice treatment for mild acne.
