What are the symptoms of Helicobacter pylori infection

Helicobacter pylori is a common pathogen. This bacterium is contagious and has a wide range of transmission routes, which can have a great impact on people's health. When the human body is infected with Helicobacter pylori, more obvious symptoms will appear. Different diseases have different manifestations. So what are the symptoms of Helicobacter pylori infection?

1. Acute gastritis:

The incubation period of infection is 2 to 7 days. Endoscopic examination shows acute congestion and erosion of the gastric antrum. Histological examination shows congestion, edema and neutrophil infiltration in the mucosal layer. Symptoms may include abdominal pain, bloating, nausea in the morning, acid reflux, belching, hunger, and vomiting in severe cases. There is now sufficient evidence to show that Hp is the main cause of chronic gastritis.

2. Chronic gastritis:

The Hp detection rate is 54% to 100%, and the Hp detection rate in chronic active gastritis is over 90%. It not only causes antral gastritis, but also fundus gastritis. The clinical manifestations are non-characteristic, and common upper gastrointestinal symptoms include upper abdominal pain, discomfort, fullness, belching, etc.

3. Duodenal ulcer:

Hp plays a very important role in the occurrence, development, healing and recurrence of (GU&DU). The detection rate of Hp in GU is mostly above 80%, and the detection rate in DU is mostly above 90%. 82.5% of DU patients had gastric metaplasia in the duodenum. Gastric metaplasia and Hp infection were the prerequisites for DU. It is currently believed that eradication of Hp is the key to curing and preventing recurrence of ulcers.

4. Low-grade gastric lymphoma:

It is generally believed to be related to Hp-positive chronic gastritis, and Hp eradication therapy can cause 77% to 83% of gastric MALT lymphomas to regress. Therefore, active Hp eradication treatment is advocated. The incidence of gastric adenocarcinoma increases in people with long-term Hp infection, and it is believed to be related to the Cag A and Vac A genes. Hp strains that produce Cag A protein and Vac A s1/ml genotype have a higher incidence of gastric cancer.
