Why do my calves feel weak?

Why do my calves feel weak?

There are many reasons for calf weakness, such as excessive fatigue and calf muscle strain, which may cause this. In addition, calf bone hyperplasia and wrinkled and bulging ligaments can easily cause calf weakness. Another thing that should also be of concern is poor blood circulation in the calves, which can also lead to such symptoms.

(1) Dynamic factors.

The vertebral segments become unstable and loose, the posterior longitudinal ligament becomes bulging and wrinkled, the posterior process of the nucleus pulposus and the hypertrophy and anterior convexity of the yellow ligament protrude into the spinal canal, causing compression of the spinal cord. These conditions may disappear with a change in body position.

(2) Mechanical factors.

Bone hyperplasia at the posterior edge of the vertebral body, adhesion and ossification after protrusion or extrusion of the nucleus pulposus can cause continuous compression of the spinal cord. When the cervical vertebrae move, the spinal cord rubs back and forth on the protruding part, which can compress or irritate the spinal cord and produce symptoms.

(3) Vascular factors.

The blood supply to the spinal cord is an important basis for maintaining the spinal cord to complete various complex activities. Once certain blood vessels spasm or stenosis occur due to compression or stimulation, the corresponding areas supplied will be ischemic, resulting in paralysis symptoms.

(4) Congenital developmental factors.

Congenital developmental stenosis of the sagittal diameter of the cervical spinal canal is also a reason that cannot be ignored.

When your legs are sore and weak, use a hot towel or put a layer of cloth bag over the hot water bottle. In short, do not let the hot water bag directly contact your skin. Hot compress is very effective in relieving soreness. When applying hot compresses, be careful to avoid burns. Of course, if you do some local massage, it will promote blood circulation and help relieve pain.
