What are the causes of bronchial asthma?

Bronchial asthma is a type of asthma that is very harmful and must be actively treated. Experts say that treatment based on the disease is the key. From a clinical perspective, the causes of bronchial asthma include climate change, respiratory tract infections, contact with allergens, mental factors and other factors.

1. Climate change. The incidence rate increases in cold seasons because the climate changes frequently and suddenly in autumn and winter, and there are more viral respiratory infections; the distribution concentration of some allergenic plant pollens increases in spring and autumn; bacteria can easily multiply when the temperature and humidity are high; low air pressure can cause pollen, harmful dust, irritating gases, etc. to gather on the ground, increasing the concentration and making them easy to inhale.

2. Respiratory tract infection. Inflammatory infections of the lungs, bronchi, trachea, and paranasal sinuses can trigger asthma.

3. Contact allergens. There are many types of allergens, most of which come from outside the body, such as plant pollen, house dust, mites, industrial dust, animal dander, fish, shrimp, paint, dyes, etc., which can cause the disease.

4. Mental factors. Emotional excitement and conditioned reflexes can trigger asthma.

5. Other factors. Asthma may be triggered by physical and chemical stimulation from cold air or gas, strenuous exercise or coughing.

2. Clinical manifestations

Paroxysmal expiratory dyspnea with wheezing or paroxysmal cough and chest tightness. In severe cases, patients are forced to sit or sit up to breathe, have a dry cough or cough up a lot of white foamy sputum, and even cyanosis. Sometimes coughing is the only symptom (cough variant asthma). For some adolescent patients, the only clinical manifestations are chest tightness, cough and dyspnea during exercise (exercise-induced asthma). Asthma symptoms can develop within minutes and resolve over hours to days, with the help of bronchodilators or on their own. Some patients may have another attack a few hours after relief. Attacks and exacerbations at night and in the early morning are often one of the characteristics of asthma.
