In fact, pufferfish not only have dark stripes, but also red ones, which are also quite common. This red pufferfish is rich in protein and is more colorful. In addition, it also contains a lot of fat.

The redfin pufferfish (Fugu rubripes) belongs to the order Tetrapodiformes, family Tetrapodidae, genus Fugu. Because of its piggy-like body shape, it is often caught in estuaries, so it is commonly known as "pufferfish" in Jiangsu and Zhejiang areas, boat fish in the north, and turtle fish in the south. The redfin pufferfish is mainly distributed in Japan, the Korean Peninsula and the coast of China in the western North Pacific.

A total of 17 species of pufferfish have been found distributed along the coast of my country, and the redfin pufferfish is one of the species with the largest individual size and the highest economic value. Because of its tender meat, delicious taste, high protein and rich nutrition, it is known as the "king of fish" and is deeply loved by gourmets. Takifugu obscurus

The body of the dark-striped pufferfish is oblong, blunt at the front and gradually narrowing towards the tail. The mouth is small, terminal, and transversely fissured. There are two plate-like teeth (the same shape as human teeth) on each of the upper and lower rims. The lips are well developed, with strong bite force and fine fissures. The gill openings are small, lateral, and an arc-shaped fissure. The eyes are small, closable, and located laterally superior. There is a pair of nostrils, which are prominent.

The dorsal fin is set back and is almost connected to the anal fin. There are no pelvic fins, the caudal fin is truncated, and the rear end is gray-brown The lateral lines are obvious, with two on each side, located on the dorsal and ventral sides respectively. It has no scales on its body, and its head, back and abdomen are covered with small spines, which are barbed spines. The back and upper parts of the body have 4 to 5 gray horizontal stripes, and the lower side and abdomen are orange-yellow to white. There is a black spot above the pectoral fin and at the base of the dorsal fin, and the anal fin is yellow. Body color varies slightly with body length and surrounding water quality.

Distributed in the Yellow Sea, Bohai Sea, and East China Sea in my country. It is also distributed in North Korea.
