I have a stiff neck. Do this to get better quickly

Neck stiffness is a very common phenomenon in daily life, which often makes people feel distressed, so it is necessary for people to understand what stiff neck is. In particular, it is very meaningful to know some tips on treating stiff neck, which can be used frequently and can also help friends around you to get correct treatment and quickly return to normal.

1. What is stiff neck

Stiff neck is medically called: cervical and shoulder myofasciitis

His appearance is usually related to our sleeping posture, such as an inappropriate pillow, sleeping with the head tilted, etc.

Although we fall asleep, our neck is always in a tense state, which will cause a stiff neck when we wake up the next day!

2. Treatment of stiff neck

Xiao Su will teach you the secret recipe that has been proven to be effective:

1. Determine which side of the neck hurts, then find the opposite arm

For example: If the left side of your neck hurts, look for the right arm; if the right side of your neck hurts, look for the left arm.

2. Find the "Shou San Li" acupuncture point on your arm

As shown in the picture, bend your arm and you will see the elbow lines.

Then find the line between the center of the elbow crease and the index finger, about 3 to 4 cm away

In fact, if you find the approximate location, it will be very painful even if you press it lightly when you have a stiff neck. That point is Shousanli.

3. Press and rub the opposite side of the Shousanli point while slowly turning your neck

Massage Shousanli in a clockwise motion to the maximum extent you can tolerate. After about 5 to 10 seconds, slowly (definitely slowly) turn your neck. The pain will be cured in about 1 minute by massaging and turning your neck.

We can also use this method when we sit for a long time or play with our mobile phones too much, which causes some pain in the neck or upper back.

3. Treatment Methods

1. Exercise therapy

Head down and head up

Sit upright on a chair, keep your chest out and stomach in, and lower your head as far as possible until your jaw touches your chest. Then tilt your head back and look upward as far as possible.

Swing your head left and right

Sit on a chair with your arms hanging naturally, and swing your head first to the left and then to the right. Repeat this 20 times.

Swinging jaw

Sit on a chair, let your arms hang naturally, straighten your chest, and shake your jaw left and right with force, 20 times in a row.

Retractable neck

Sit on the bench in the same way, with your chest slightly raised, first stretch your neck upwards, and then contract your neck downwards.

Rotating Neck

Sit on a chair, keep your body still, rotate your neck 90 degrees to the left, then rotate your neck 90 degrees to the right, and do this 20 times in a row.

2. Mechanical therapy

Treatment options include local irradiation with TDP magic lamp, local rotating magnetic therapy, local cold therapy or hot and moist compress. In addition, mild stiff neck can also be treated by yourself using an electric massager.

The vigorous hammering massage function of the massage stick penetrates muscle tissue and can effectively relieve muscle soreness. The weight of the massage stick is all concentrated on the massage head, which greatly enhances the massage intensity and has a very good effect.

(3) The main acupoint for cupping therapy is the Ashi point.

Ashi point location: the most obvious place of tenderness in the neck.

Associated acupoints: Fengmen and Jianjing.
