This kind of care after perianal abscess surgery will make it heal faster

Perianal abscess is a type of human anal disease. It is an inflammation caused by lesions in the anal area. It is very harmful to the human body. Postoperative care for perianal abscess is also very critical. If care is not timely, it may cause recurrence. You can eat more easily digestible food and keep the wound clean.

Perianal abscess care

1. Develop reasonable eating habits

You should eat more foods rich in fiber, such as sweet potatoes, eggplants, bananas, corn, etc., and try to eat less spicy and irritating foods, such as mustard, peppers, liquor, etc. Eat less of these foods and try to keep the stool soft. When dry and hard feces are discharged, they can tear the anal valves and scratch the anal skin, destroying the first line of defense against disease. Bacteria can easily enter through the wound and cause infection and form abscesses.

2. Regular bowel movement habits

If the frequency of bowel movements decreases, the feces will stay in the intestines for too long, causing dry stools and constipation.

3. Actively treat anal cryptitis and anal papillitis

Patients with anal cryptitis and anal papillitis must go to a regular professional hospital for treatment in time to prevent the inflammation from getting worse or even festering, thus forming an anorectal abscess.

4. Keep the area around the anus clean

Develop the habit of washing the area after defecation every day to keep the anus clean. There are many sweat glands and sebaceous glands in the anus, which often secrete glandular fluid. In order to prevent infection, you should clean it frequently and change your underwear frequently.

Not paying attention to care after perianal abscess surgery

Recurrence of perianal abscess is still possible. Therefore, postoperative care for perianal abscess is very important. Postoperative care after surgery is very helpful for recovery.

Patients with perianal abscess should pay attention to:

1: Pay close attention to the occurrence of internal bleeding after periarthritis abscess surgery, because the wound surface is prone to bleeding after surgery, so be careful not to cough or sneeze hard.

2: After surgery for periarthritis, prevent pressure on the wound and try to sleep in a prone position.

3. After surgery for periarthritis, you can eat some liquid food (milk, juice, soup) within 2 to 3 days after the surgery, and then you can eat food with no or little residue (rice porridge, soft noodles)

4: After surgery for periarthritis, try to avoid defecation within 3 days after the surgery, which is conducive to wound healing.

5. After surgery for periarthritis, take a sitz bath in warm water with 1:5000 potassium permanganate after defecation or before changing the dressing to prevent infection.

6: After surgery for peritonitis, you should pay close attention to whether you have difficulty defecating. If you have difficulty defecating, you should seek medical attention in time. Pay attention to whether there are symptoms such as smaller stools or fecal incontinence. If so, you should tell your doctor. 7: After periarthritis surgery, you should eat more vegetables (celery, leeks) and fruits (apples, oranges, bananas). Pay special attention not to eat spicy food, and avoid smoking and drinking.

Perianal abscess, also known as anorectal abscess, is called anal carbuncle in traditional Chinese medicine. Perianal abscess is an acute suppurative infectious disease occurring around the anus, anal canal and rectum. It is a bacterial infection and is the predecessor of anal fistula. This disease and anal fistula are one of the three major anorectal diseases, with an incidence rate of about 2%, accounting for 8% to 25% of anorectal diseases. It is more common in men aged 20 to 40 years old. The incidence rate in men is 3 to 4 times that in women. The incidence rate in children is also relatively high.

Perianal abscesses should be taken seriously after they occur. Abscesses occurring in the ischiorectal fossa and pelvic rectal fossa on both sides of the anus and under the perineal fascia on the front side of the male are the most dangerous. If not treated promptly, they may lead to infectious shock and even be life-threatening.

Causes

This disease is a bacterial infection in the intestines, and "intestinal bacteria" are the source and the cause of the disease. The "anal sinus" is the entrance for infection and is also the internal opening for abscesses and fistulas. The "anal glands" are the route of infection, where infection occurs first and then spreads. The "perianal space" is the final site of disease. Intestinal bacteria enter the anal sinus and cause inflammation, blocking the anal gland opening, causing obstruction of anal gland fluid outflow and causing anal gland infection. The infection spreads to the perianal space through the muscle space and lymphatic vessels, and finally forms an anal canal and rectal abscess.

Clinical manifestations

The main symptom of perianal abscess is pain, which can be very severe and gradually worsens. Many patients say they cannot eat or sleep. After the abscess bursts on its own, the pain is temporarily relieved.

Low-lying abscesses cause severe anal pain that persists. A perirectal abscess (high position) is not necessarily painful. Because the area around the rectum belongs to the pelvic cavity, the autonomic nerves distributed here are insensitive to ordinary stimulation. The most important manifestations are local heaviness and a feeling of urge to defecate.

Another symptom of perianal abscess is fever, which can reach over 40°C. Generally speaking, the larger and deeper the abscess cavity, the greater the probability of fever. Some patients may also experience difficulty urinating and defecating, poor appetite, and insomnia.
