Is ALT 78 considered high?

Is ALT 78 considered high?

Alanine transaminase 78 is a relatively high type, which can cause the patient to have a decreased appetite, and often have fever, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, jaundice and diarrhea. Therefore, patients should choose appropriate treatment methods based on some existing physical problems. This disease may also cause many complications. Long-term drinking and smoking are also major factors that can aggravate the condition.

Etiology and pathology

There are many reasons for high alanine aminotransferase, such as acute hepatitis, taking medications (especially those that are harmful to the liver), long-term drinking or drinking a large dose at one time, certain biliary diseases, heart failure during heart disease, fever, etc., all of which can cause high alanine aminotransferase.

Clinical diagnosis

Alanine aminotransferase is mainly found in the liver, heart and skeletal muscle. Damage or necrosis of liver cells or certain tissues will increase the alanine aminotransferase in the blood. There are many clinical diseases that can cause abnormal transaminase and must be identified.

1. Viral hepatitis This is the most common disease that causes increased transaminase. All types of acute and chronic viral hepatitis can lead to increased transaminase.

2. Toxic hepatitis: Many drugs and chemical agents can cause elevated transaminase levels, but after drug withdrawal, transaminase levels can return to normal.

3. People who drink a lot or for a long time will also have elevated alanine aminotransferase.

4. When cirrhosis and liver cancer are active, transaminase levels are higher than normal and should be actively treated.

5. Acute attacks of cholecystitis and cholelithiasis caused by biliary diseases often cause fever, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, jaundice, and elevated blood bilirubin and transaminase.
