If people eat something unclean, such as food sprayed with pesticides or some food grown in the wild, it is possible that the toxins are not properly cleaned and the bacteria inside are not killed, resulting in parasites. It is also possible that the infection occurs when rubbing the eyes with hands when outdoors or the eyes come into contact with some flying objects. Therefore, the presence of parasites in the eyes can be judged by these. Symptom classification Ocular Cysticercosis People who eat unclean lettuce, rice, and pork, or drink water contaminated by cysticercus may develop ocular cysticercosis. The disease can occur in the orbit and any part of the eyeball except the lens, with the vitreous body and retina being the most common. The common manifestation of this disease is an acute inflammatory reaction of the eye. Patients feel afraid of light, have tears, eye pain, blurred vision, and seriously affect their vision. The key to this disease is to locate the cysticercosis and remove it surgically as soon as possible. Conjunctival sucking nematodes The adult conjunctival nematodes are produced in the conjunctival sac and tear ducts of dogs and cats. The larvae are sucked into the intestines by flies along with the tears. When the flies suck the human eyes, the larvae enter the human eyes. After 15 to 20 days, the larvae grow into adults. When conjunctival sucking nematodes are present in the eyes, there may be a local foreign body sensation, accompanied by conjunctival congestion, pain, tearing, itching, etc. Because the sharp cuticle of the worm body constantly rubs against the eyeball, the cornea may become cloudy and even cause corneal scars. After discovering conjunctival nematodes in the eye, 0.5% cacine can be dripped into the eye. After being stimulated, the conjunctival nematodes will crawl out from the corner of the eye, and then the conjunctival sac can be thoroughly cleaned with saline. Conjunctival myiasis The disease is caused by the larvae of the sheep fly. The patient feels pain, swelling, foreign body sensation, tearing and inability to open the eyes after being hit by a flying insect. Examination revealed eyelid edema and small maggots wriggling in the cornea and conjunctival sac. For treatment, you can use 0.5~1% cacao eye drops to remove the larvae, and then use anti-inflammatory eye drops to prevent infection. The acute symptoms will disappear 1 to 2 days after the larvae are removed. |
