There are more than 200 bones in our body. If any bone has a problem, it will have some impact on the nearby joints and cause some harm. When the ankle joint is injured, it will lead to insufficient blood supply to the talus. If the situation is serious, it may even cause the ankle joint to deform, thus causing more serious damage to the ankle joint. Now let's learn about the treatment of talus necrosis. 1. On the one hand, as a doctor, you must correctly analyze the patient's condition, choose the appropriate period, and treat the disease accurately; you must clearly explain the precautions to the patient. Make them understand the effects of prescriptions and medicines, methods of decocting medicines, etc.; establish long-term mental preparation for patients and make them confident in the treatment. 2. The second aspect is that patients should follow the doctor’s instructions, cooperate closely with treatment, and not conceal their condition or make false statements. If the doctor prescribes the use of crutches, the patient may not have enough understanding of this and may not insist on using them or may refuse to use them for fear of being "embarrassed", resulting in rapid necrosis and collapse of the femoral head. 3. For example, if patients are advised to abstain from alcohol, their condition may become unstable due to social activities and inability to control themselves from drinking. If you need to exercise according to your doctor's instructions for your condition, you must also persist in doing muscle and joint exercises step by step to improve the therapeutic effect. Causes of talar necrosis Avascular necrosis of the talus is more common. The talus is the only bone in the whole body that has no muscle attachments. When the ankle joint suffers severe injury, the blood supply to the talus can be completely destroyed and ischemic necrosis may occur. This eventually leads to collapse and deformation of the talus body, causing ankle osteoarthritis. Therefore, prevention and early treatment of avascular necrosis of the talus play an important role in its function. Talus fracture is the main cause of talus necrosis, and other causes only account for about 10% of talus necrosis. Talus necrosis is related to the type of fracture, that is, the extent of the injury: Type I talar neck fracture without dislocation, its ligaments are not damaged, the blood supply is intact, and the necrosis rate of the talar body does not exceed 10%. In type II talar neck fracture combined with dislocation of the superior and inferior talar joints, the interosseous ligament is damaged, the blood supply to the talus body is reduced, and the necrosis rate increases to 20% to 40%. Type III talar neck fracture is combined with dislocation of the upper and lower talar joints, that is, both the tibiotalar and talocalcaneal joints are dislocated. This type is rare. After dislocation, there may be only a small amount of soft tissue attached to maintain blood supply. If not promptly repaired, ischemic necrosis is likely to occur, with a necrosis rate of over 70%. The rate of avascular necrosis of the talar body increases with the severity of injury, apparently due to disruption of the blood supply. |
