What to do if there are parasites in the stomach

Many people often say that they have parasites in their stomachs. First of all, there are many types of intestinal parasitic diseases. Each type will cause patients to have varying degrees of diarrhea, abdominal distension, intestinal cramps, and urticaria, which will seriously affect metabolism. Toxins will gradually appear. Parasites will suck our blood and cause intestinal obstruction. Severe cases will cause perforation, inflammation, and even many complications.

1. Ascariasis:

It is caused by human Ascaris parasitizing the human body. People are infected by ingesting infectious eggs. Ascaris has the characteristics of wandering, drilling holes, and twisting into balls, which can cause a series of surgical complications.

Mild cases of intestinal ascariasis are asymptomatic, but large numbers of ascarid parasites can cause indigestion, anorexia, hunger or picky eating, or even anorexia and nutritional disorders. They can often cause paroxysmal periumbilical abdominal pain and vomiting, and their metabolites or toxins can cause toxic symptoms or even convulsions in children. In addition, allergic reactions such as urticaria, asthma, fever, intestinal cramps, and angioedema may occur due to the absorption of foreign proteins from the insect body. When the larvae migrate to the lungs, they can cause ascariasis pneumonia. Too many worms, or when children have high fever or are seriously ill, especially if they take insufficient amounts of anthelmintics, can irritate the worms to drill into the bile duct (biliary ascariasis), pancreatic duct, appendix (ascariasis appendicitis) or other parts of the body and cause serious complications such as mechanical obstruction, inflammation, and perforation. When there are too many ascarids, they can twist into balls and cause intestinal obstruction.

The diagnosis is mainly based on the above manifestations and the search for worm eggs in stool smears. An increase in peripheral blood eosinophils is helpful for diagnosis. The best basis for diagnosis is a history of vomiting or expelling worms.

Prevention: Pay attention to personal hygiene, wash hands before and after eating, do not eat unclean fruits and vegetables, carry out general surveys and treatments, eliminate sources of infection, and promote harmless disposal of feces.

treat:

Antiparasitic treatment:

(1) Ascarisine: 150 mg/kg per day, no more than 3 grams per day, taken on an empty stomach or before bedtime, for 2 consecutive days. (2) Intestinal Worm Clear: Children over 2 years old, take 400 mg once in the morning.

If complications arise, appropriate treatment should be given.

2. Enterobiasis

This is mainly because female worms migrate to the anus at night to lay a large number of eggs in the anal folds and perineum. The eggs can develop into infectious eggs after 6 hours. When children scratch, the eggs contaminate their hands or attach to the nail crevices. They enter the mouth directly through the hands or contaminate clothes, bedding, pants and utensils, or the eggs are blown by dust and contaminate food and utensils, and infect themselves or people around them through the mouth. The disease is widespread throughout the world, especially in temperate zones. It is easily spread in families and childcare institutions. Most cases are asymptomatic. When the female worm migrates to the area around the anus to lay eggs, it can cause severe itching in the anus and perineum. It often occurs at night after falling asleep, often affecting sleep. It can sometimes invade adjacent organs and cause ectopic complications such as vaginitis, salpingitis, appendicitis, etc.

Diagnosis is based on the above symptoms. Adult worms can be detected in the anus 2-3 hours after the child falls asleep at night.

Prevention: Since worm eggs develop for a short time outside the body, they are easily spread and cause repeated infection. Therefore, prevention and treatment should be carried out at the same time, and prevention is especially important. Pay attention to personal hygiene, encourage children to wear closed-crotch pants to sleep, wash hands before meals and after defecation, correct the habit of sucking fingers, cut nails frequently, and wash the perineum frequently. During treatment, underwear should be boiled and disinfected every day to kill insect eggs, and outer clothes and bedding should be washed and dried frequently. Let people understand the transmission methods of pinworms to minimize the chance of infection.
