Massage areas to relieve migraine

Migraine is a common type of headache. Its main symptom is throbbing pain around the temples. The main causes of this disease are diet, genetics, endocrine system, etc. If you suffer from severe migraine, it will have a great impact on the human body, with symptoms such as chest tightness and vomiting. Massage can be used to relieve migraine, but you must master the correct steps to be effective. The following will introduce the massage parts.

Which acupoints should I massage for migraine?

1. Baihui Point

Acupoint: Located at the center of the top of the head, at the intersection of the line connecting the two ears and the midline of the top of the head.

Efficacy: Baihui acupoint is the gathering place of Qi in the whole body. Pressing this acupoint when you have a headache can make Qi and blood flow smoothly throughout the body and effectively relieve headaches.

2. Fengchi Point

Acupoint location: Located in the depression below the occipital bone behind the ear, near the hairline.

Efficacy: This point has the function of clearing away heat and reducing fire, promoting the flow of qi and blood, and unblocking meridians. It has a rapid analgesic effect.

3. Qiaogong Point

Acupoint: Qiaogong point, located on the large tendons on both sides of the human neck, equivalent to the position of the sternocleidomastoid muscle.

Efficacy: Modern medical research has found that massaging the Qiaogong acupoint can lower blood pressure and treat headaches.

4. Hegu Point

Acupoint: Also known as Tiger's Mouth Point, it is located on the back of the hand, midway between the 1st and 2nd metacarpal bones.

Efficacy: Hegu point has the effects of calming and relieving pain, promoting blood circulation, clearing away heat and relieving exterior symptoms.

Precautions

When it is cold, wear a scarf or hat to keep warm when going out. When going from outside to a heated room, take off the scarf and hat first to allow the body to adapt to the temperature difference and reduce the chance of a headache. You can also take some measures to improve the circulation of qi and blood in the head and face, such as applying a hot towel to the neck for 10 to 15 minutes.

After performing the migraine massage acupoint fingering, you can use the hot and cold air of the hair dryer to stimulate the acupoints in the painful area. First, blow hot and cold air to the "Tianzhu" and "Fengchi" points on the neck alternately. At this time, the dilated blood vessels at the back of the head will contract and the pain will disappear. Next, shave your head alternately with hot air and cold air, but end with cold air.
