What is the difference between vaginal ultrasound and B-ultrasound

Vaginal ultrasound and B-ultrasound are two examination methods that must be distinguished. Vaginal B-ultrasound is an intracavitary B-ultrasound method in which the B-ultrasound probe is placed into the vagina for vaginal diagnosis. This examination can visually check everything in the female vagina, including whether there is uterine fibroids, cervical cysts, etc. However, B-ultrasound can directly observe the internal organs on the surface of the abdomen by irradiating the skin. Vaginal ultrasound and B-ultrasound are completely different.

Vaginal ultrasound

Introduction

Vaginal ultrasound, also known as vaginal B-ultrasound, also known as intracavitary B-ultrasound, is a method of ultrasonic diagnosis by inserting the B-ultrasound probe into the vagina or rectum. It is particularly suitable for observing pelvic organs in the small pelvis. Compared with abdominal B-ultrasound, vaginal ultrasound images are clearer and more realistic, the results are more accurate, and the person being examined does not have to "hold urine". It is particularly suitable for ovulation monitoring, diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy, uterine space-occupying diseases, and diagnosis of polycystic ovary syndrome and chocolate cysts. For those who have had sexual intercourse, a vaginal examination can be performed, and for virgins, a rectal ultrasound examination can be performed.

Indications

1. Sonographic manifestations of the endometrium during a normal menstrual cycle and the mature and immature follicles in normal ovaries (the so-called "ovulation detection").

2. Benign uterine tumors: 1. Adenomyosis; 2. Uterine fibroids.

3. Uterine malignancies: 1. Endometrial cancer; 2. Cervical cancer.

4. Non-neoplastic ovarian cysts: 1. Polycystic ovary syndrome; 2. Chocolate cyst.

5. Ovarian tumor.

6. Make a clear diagnosis of early pregnancy as early as possible.

7. Abnormal early pregnancy, especially ectopic pregnancy (i.e., "ectopic pregnancy"), is a clinical emergency and may lead to death if not treated in time.

Overview

The science of studying and applying the physical properties of ultrasound to scan the human body and diagnose diseases in some way is called ultrasound diagnosis. Ultrasound diagnostics mainly studies the body's reaction to ultrasound in order to understand the internal conditions of the human body. In modern medical imaging, it goes hand in hand with CT, X-ray, nuclear medicine, and magnetic resonance imaging, and they complement each other. It is known for its low intensity, high frequency, no damage to the human body, no pain, and various display methods. It is especially unique in the detection of human soft tissues and the hemodynamic observation of cardiovascular organs. Ultrasonic diagnostics includes the working principle, instrument structure, display method, operation technique, recording method, and the analysis and judgment of the interface's reflection, scattering or transmission signals of ultrasound.

Ordinary B-ultrasound

B-ultrasound has gone through three stages of development. The earliest one used was black and white ultrasound diagnostic technology, which is ordinary B-ultrasound. The images measured by the ultrasound probe are black and white and can only observe the fetal tissue structure and measure the size of the head and the length of the body.

Color B-ultrasound

In the 1980s, color-Doppler ultrasound detection and diagnosis technology appeared on the basis of ordinary B-ultrasound. The observed images are mainly red and blue, with red appearing towards the probe and blue away from it.

This technology can observe the blood flow of the fetus, which is helpful for timely detection of fetal abnormalities. For example, if there is a blood flow ring in the fetus's neck, it means that the umbilical cord has been wrapped around the neck, which can lead to death from suffocation.
