What causes sweaty and smelly ears?

Many people don’t understand what is going on with sweating ears. In fact, in addition to normal physiological sweating, we must also rule out whether it is caused by otitis media or other ear diseases. Especially otitis media nowadays can be said to be a problem with a relatively high incidence rate. We need to focus on correct prevention and care, exercise regularly in life, and pay attention to health and hygiene.

1. Consider the reasons

Considering it is otitis media, it is recommended to see a doctor in time. You should rest in bed and treat the symptoms. You can choose sulfonamide and antibiotics to reduce inflammation. Before the tympanic membrane perforates, you can use 2% to 5% phenol glycerin to drip into the ear, 3 times a day, 3 to 4 drops each time; if the ear pain is severe, the tympanic membrane is bulging or the perforation is too small, and the pus is not draining smoothly, you can consider surgical myringotomy. If the tympanic membrane is perforated, you can first wash the ear with 3% boric acid water or 3% hydrogen peroxide, and then choose an ear drop medicine, such as 2% phenol glycerin, 2.5% chloramphenicol glycerin, 1% to 2% gentamicin or 1% berberine solution, etc. At the same time, use 1% ephedrine and other nasal drops to promote the anti-inflammatory and unobstructed Eustachian tube, so as to facilitate the drainage of the tympanic cavity.

2. Prevention

Strengthen physical exercise, prevent colds, carry out health education, improve parents' and teachers' awareness of the disease, conduct regular screening acoustic impedance testing for children under 10 years old, and actively treat nasal and pharyngeal diseases.

1. Whenever a blockage in the ear occurs, it is important to find the cause and eliminate it promptly, which will be of great benefit to the recovery of the disease.

2. When inflammation of the nose and nasopharynx spreads to Eustachian tube obstruction, 1% ephedrine solution should be used as soon as possible to drop into the nose to shrink the nasal mucosa, unblock the Eustachian tube, allow fresh air to enter the middle ear, and absorb ear exudate immediately.

3. Nursing

1. If the eardrum is perforated, nasal or ear drops are prohibited to prevent middle ear infection.

2. Use antibiotics to prevent infection under the guidance of a doctor.

3. If there is fluid or blood accumulation in the tympanic cavity, you should go to the hospital for treatment.
