Glue cleaner is not a panacea, this is how glue should be removed!

Glue cleaner is not a panacea, this is how glue should be removed!

In our daily lives, we come into contact with various kinds of glue, as well as things that are similar to glue, such as chewing gum and so on. There will definitely be times when you are not careful during use, and the glue will either stick to your body or your clothes, which is difficult to remove. Therefore, many people prepare glue cleaners at home. Glue cleaners certainly have their uses, but special glues also require special methods to remove.

1. How to remove foam adhesive

Dip the clothes in foam adhesive, put them in the refrigerator until they are solid, then take them out and rub them gently with your hands.

2. Removal of all-purpose glue stains

If there are universal glue stains on clothes, you can drop acetone or banana water on the glue stains and brush them repeatedly with a brush. After the glue stains become soft and are removed from the fabric, rinse them with clean water. If it doesn't work the first time, you can scrub it repeatedly several times until it is finally clean. Do not use this method on fabrics containing acetate fiber to avoid damaging the fabric of the clothing.

3. Removal of white latex stains

White latex is a synthetic resin, which is a polyvinyl acetate emulsion. Its characteristic is that it has adhesion to most cellulose materials except nylon silk, so it can adhere firmly to clothes. It also has the characteristic of being able to dissolve in a variety of solutions. When white latex gets on clothes, we use its own characteristics to find a way to remove it. You can use 60℃ white wine or a mixture of 8:2 alcohol (95%) and water to soak the white latex stains on clothes. After soaking for about half an hour, you can rub them with water until they are clean, and finally rinse them with clean water.

4. Removal of acrylic AB glue

Yantai AB is a popular name, usually divided into component A (main agent) and component B (curing agent). When applying glue, you need to mix agent A and agent B evenly before applying glue to the bonded material. Basically, this type of glue belongs to the chemical reaction type; the most common ones are the following: methacrylate type AB glue, epoxy resin type AB glue, rubber type AB glue and polyurethane type AB glue. Generally speaking, the bonding strength of AB glue is quite strong, so the best advice is to throw away the clothes. If such clothes have a certain commemorative significance, you can try the following method, but even if the glue can be removed, there is a high possibility of discoloration. If it is water-based AB glue, it is easier to handle. Soak the clothes in water for a long time and then take them out to see if they can be removed; there are also degumming agents sold on the market, you can also try them.

5. 520 glue removal

There are about 3 ways to remove 520 glue from clothes, depending on the quality of your clothes:

(1) Freeze it in the refrigerator, then rub it directly with your hands.

(2) Use acetone, a chemical reagent that can dissolve glue. This method is fast and effective. After washing with acetone, soak the clothes in water immediately. But please note that acetone is poisonous. It is okay if you don't drink it. It is flammable and cannot be exposed to open flames. Just dilute the remaining acetone with water.

(3) Scrape carefully with a blade. Be sure to be careful.

6. Removal of chewing gum stains

If there are chewing gum stains on your clothes, you can first use raw egg white to remove the glue on the surface of the clothes, then wipe off the loose remaining particles one by one, and finally wash them in soapy water and rinse them with clean water. If the clothes cannot be washed, you can apply carbon tetrachloride to remove the residual dirt.
