What to do if your hands are allergic to laundry detergent

Laundry detergent is a common cleaning item in the home, which is mainly used for washing clothes. There are many types of laundry detergents and their components are very complex. For people with delicate skin, frequently using laundry detergent to wash clothes can cause great harm to their hands. Some people even have allergic symptoms to washing clothes. In cases like this, we must pay attention to prevention and treatment. What should we do if our hands are allergic to laundry detergent?

1. Enzyme-added laundry detergents are often allergenic

Since the main components of human skin secretions, certain foods or blood are proteins, and proteolytic enzymes can hydrolyze water-insoluble proteins into water-soluble amino acids, enzyme-added laundry detergent has a much stronger cleaning effect than ordinary laundry detergent. However, during the use of enzyme-added laundry detergent, the proteolytic enzyme is sometimes not completely consumed and remains in the clothes. When people wear these clothes, especially underwear, the residual proteolytic enzyme will decompose the protein in the skin, causing allergic symptoms such as skin itching and erythematous papules.

2. Treatment

If allergic symptoms appear on the skin, mild ones can heal on their own, but more serious ones require treatment in the hospital. Studies have shown that commonly used detergents are harmful to the human liver. Surfactants have long been found to damage the skin's stratum corneum, causing rough skin, and are now regarded as a major public hazard that pollutes the environment. The alkaline substances contained in strong laundry detergents can not only absorb moisture, but also damage human cell membranes and denature tissue proteins. There are too many synthetic flavors in scented laundry detergents, and the odor is pungent, which often causes allergies in some people. The organochlorine and fluorescent agents contained in whitening laundry detergents are toxic substances that easily accumulate in the human body and cause damage to health.

3. Others

When the skin is in direct contact with alkaline laundry detergent for a long time, the weak acid environment on the skin surface will be destroyed and its effect of inhibiting bacterial growth will disappear, which can easily lead to skin itching and even symptoms such as allergic dermatitis or leave pigmentation on the skin. Therefore, when using laundry detergent, the amount should be appropriate, do not put too much, rinse the clothes several times, and it is best to soak the washed clothes in clean water for a while. If necessary, soak them in boiling water to destroy the residual enzyme activity, which can help prevent allergies. It is recommended that you take it orally; Mindy tablets and Fangfengtongsheng pills can be used together. Or disable
