Do kidney stones grow fast?

Kidney stones are a urinary system disease caused by the failure of some nutrients in the human body to be digested and absorbed in time. When kidney stones appear in the patient's kidneys, the patient will feel kidney pain and back pain. The size of kidney stones is different for every patient. At the same time, every patient should eliminate kidney stones in the early stages of their occurrence, otherwise the kidney stones will grow larger and larger. But do kidney stones grow quickly when they are in the human kidney?

What causes kidney stones to grow fast?

Diet is the main factor that causes kidney stones to grow faster:

1. Excessive protein. If you often eat excessive amounts of high-protein foods, the calcium, oxalic acid, and uric acid in your kidneys and urine will generally increase. If the excess calcium, oxalic acid, and uric acid cannot be excreted from your body through your kidneys in a timely and effective manner, kidney stones will grow faster.

2. High sugar content. Sugar is an important nutrient for the human body and should be supplemented regularly. However, if too much sugar is added at once, especially lactose, it will create favorable conditions for the formation of stones.

3. Excessive accumulation of oxalic acid. Oxalate exists in green leafy vegetables such as spinach, amaranth, and beets. Under normal circumstances, these oxalates will combine with calcium in the intestines and be excreted from the body through the urinary tract. However, when the oxalate content is too high, it will concentrate and crystallize in the urine to form stones. You can choose to eat vegetables with lower oxalate content, such as purple cabbage and broccoli.

4. Excessive fat intake will inevitably increase body fat. Fat will reduce the amount of calcium that can be bound in the intestines, thereby increasing the absorption of oxalate. If there is a malfunction in the excretion function, such as sweating a lot, drinking less water, and less urine output, kidney stones will grow quickly.
