Half-moon white at the root of the nail

Half-moon white at the root of the nail

The white half-moon at the base of the nail is one of the ways to judge the cold or hot constitution, because the yin and yang veins of the human body are exchanged at the half-moon of the nail. However, for some people, the half-moon is not very obvious. This is not the cause of illness, but may be because the body is in a sub-healthy state. Let us now learn about the precautions and causes of the white half-moon at the root of the nails.

What does the crescent on the nail mean?

The half-moon on the nail, commonly known as the "little sun", is one of the indicators of physical health and can determine whether the body is cold or hot.

The crescent is located 1/5 below the fingernail. It is the boundary line of the yin and yang meridians of the human body and a symbol of whether the body's vital energy is strong or not. It is also called the "health circle."

Although the absence of a crescent does not necessarily mean that you are sick, it is important to note that this is a warning that the body is in a sub-healthy state.

What is the relationship between the crescent and age?

A healthy person should have 8 to 10 half-moons on his fingers at the age of 30.

At age 40, there should be at least 6;

By the age of 60, there should be at least 1 to 2.

Generally speaking, maintaining 8 to 10 is the ideal state. The half-moons on people's fingers will decrease or disappear with the occurrence of physical illness. Once the body recovers, the half-moons will slowly grow out again.

Healthy Crescent

A normal half-moon on a finger should be rosy and subtle, moderately tough, and have a natural luster. A healthy person should have 4 to 8 "little suns" on the ten fingers except the little finger. If this is not the case, you should pay attention to the conditioning of your physical condition.

A healthy person's thumb usually has a half-moon. The index finger and middle finger should also have half-moons, but the ring finger may not have a half-moon. The width of the crescent should be about 1/5 of the nail.

The fewer crescents there are, the weaker the energy, the worse the physical condition, the low immunity, and the person is easily fatigued. Most people have a cold constitution with deficiency of Qi and blood.

Normal half-moon marks

1. Quantity: There should be half-moon marks on 8 to 10 fingers of both hands.

2. Morphology: The area of the half-moon mark occupies one fifth of the nail.

3. Color: Creamy white (not the whiter the better)

Abnormal half-moon marks

The fewer half-moon marks there are, the worse the energy, the colder the physique, and the weaker the immunity. Traditional Chinese medicine indicates that it is yang deficiency, which causes internal coldness, meaning that the person has a cold nature and is particularly sensitive to coldness in his hands and feet.

The absence of half-moon marks does not mean that there is any disease, but it is important to note that if there is a disease, it is often difficult to recover. Even colds are hard to recover from.

Cold Crescent

1. There are crescents on two thumbs, but no other thumbs have crescents.

2. There are no crescents on all ten fingers.

3. Although there are 3 to 7 crescents on the ten fingers, the width of the crescents is only 1 to 2 mm.

Hot crescent

1. There are half-moons on 8 or more of the ten fingers, and the half-moons are relatively large.

2. There are extra-large crescents on all ten fingers.

3. Although there are 3 to 8 crescents on the ten fingers, none of the crescents is larger than 3 mm.

Precautions

1. People with cold crescent:

Generally, there are gastrointestinal diseases, such as chronic gastroenteritis, gastroptosis, etc., and common symptoms include fear of cold, chills, cold limbs, loose stools, fatigue and weakness, etc. You can usually use 10 grams of ginger and cinnamon, soak in water and drink it as tea.

2. People with hot crescent:

There are often symptoms of "getting angry", such as oral ulcers, red face and eyes, dry mouth and tongue, irritability, constipation, etc. You can usually use honeysuckle, dendrobium, lotus seed heart, Ophiopogon japonicus, etc. to make soup or soak them in water to drink.

In addition to manicure to make ourselves beautiful, we should also pay attention to whether there are white spots or "half-moons" on the nails to ensure our own health.
