I feel uncomfortable all over and itchy in my bones

In daily life, many people will feel uncomfortable and itchy all over their body. This situation will not only cause great harm to people's physical health, but also seriously affect their normal life and work. Therefore, it is particularly important to understand the cause and find scientific and effective treatment methods. The most likely cause of this disease is calcium deficiency, which can be supplemented by drinking more milk, eating soy products, etc.

1. What is osteoporosis?

Many people believe that calcium deficiency in the elderly can lead to osteoporosis. In fact, this is a wrong view. Osteoporosis is a skeletal system disease characterized by decreased bone strength and increased risk of fractures. Bone strength reflects two aspects of the skeleton, namely bone mineral density and bone quality.

Osteoporosis is caused by bone loss due to imbalance in bone tissue metabolism, not calcium deficiency. Throughout a person's life, the osteoblasts (which make bones grow) and osteoclasts (which make bone loss) in the bones are constantly growing and dying.

Before the age of 35, osteoblasts are in their strongest state, and bone mass reaches its peak throughout life at the age of 35. But after the age of 35, the strength of osteoblasts becomes weaker and weaker, and osteoclasts gradually gain the upper hand.

Don’t always think that you are stronger than a cow. In fact, the bones of many Chinese people are not that strong anymore and they can’t withstand falls at all.

Epidemiological surveys show that the prevalence of osteoporosis in my country's population over 50 years old is 14.4% for men and 20.7% for women. The prevalence of low bone mass is even higher, at 57.6% in men and 64.6% in women. Especially now that summer is here, people wear less clothes. When an elderly person falls, the contact surface between their body and objects has no thick clothes to cushion the impact, so the impact force is greater and they are more likely to suffer fractures.

2. Feeling uncomfortable and itchy in the bones may be caused by calcium deficiency

1. Drinking milk helps supplement calcium

The nutrients contained in every 100 grams of milk are as follows: calories (54.00 kcal), protein (3.00 grams), fat (3.20 grams), carbohydrates (3.40 grams), vitamin A (24.00 micrograms), calcium (104.00 milligrams), etc., and it contains many minerals. Milk is the best source of calcium for the human body, and the calcium-phosphorus ratio is very appropriate, which is conducive to calcium absorption.

2. Eating soy products helps supplement calcium

Soy products are foods made from soybeans, adzuki beans, mung beans, peas, broad beans and other beans as the main raw materials. Most soy products are tofu made from coagulated soybean milk and its derivatives. The nutritional value of soy products is mainly reflected in their rich protein content. The essential amino acids contained in soy products are similar to those in animal protein.

3. Meat and eggs help supplement calcium

Meat is almost the most universally loved food. The protein content in meat is between 10% and 20%. The protein in meat is a complete protein that can provide all types of amino acids needed by the human body and promote calcium absorption. The nutrients in egg white are mainly protein, while egg yolk contains more nutrients than egg white. Inorganic salts such as calcium, phosphorus and iron are mostly concentrated in the egg yolk.
