​What to do if you have diarrhea and vomiting

Once we eat unclean things, we will have diarrhea, vomiting, and even fever. These symptoms are basically caused by gastroenteritis. So what should we do when adverse reactions such as diarrhea and vomiting occur? Here are four ways to deal with diarrhea and vomiting. I hope you can recover as soon as possible.

1. Drink more salt water

When acute gastritis occurs, patients often experience repeated vomiting and diarrhea. After the stomach and intestines are emptied, they may vomit acid and have diarrhea, which can easily lead to dehydration. Therefore, when vomiting occurs due to gastritis, you can drink more warm boiled water with salt to replenish the body's lost water and electrolytes and prevent electrolyte imbalance.

2 Oral medication

When the inflammation in our stomach accumulates to the point where the pyloric tube function is dysfunctional, the food in the stomach reaches the pylorus through the peristalsis of the stomach, and the pylorus closes, preventing the food from reaching the duodenum. The pressure in the gastric cavity increases, reflexively stimulating the vomiting center, causing vomiting. For nausea and vomiting caused by gastritis, you can take metoclopramide 10 mg twice a day. Or take morphine 20 mg two to three times a day. These medicines can often relieve stomach upset and reduce symptoms of nausea and vomiting.

3. Seek medical attention promptly

Chronic gastritis generally does not cause symptoms of nausea and vomiting, but if the patient vomits, it usually means that the gastritis has worsened, so the patient should seek medical attention immediately, receive appropriate treatment after a confirmed diagnosis, and control the progression of the disease in a timely manner.

4. Stop eating

Sudden vomiting symptoms are most likely caused by eating some irritating food, which irritates the stomach and intestines and causes nausea and vomiting. Therefore, when gastritis causes vomiting, stop eating immediately to avoid further irritation.
