Body fever is a very common problem. Generally speaking, when people have a fever, they may have a body fever. When the body has a fever, the most important thing is to pay attention to cooling down. The most direct way to cool down is probably to use ice cubes, but there are many things to pay attention to when using ice cubes directly to cool down. For example, the location of the cooling part must be paid attention to to avoid errors. 1. Fever location When you have a fever, you generally need to take physical cooling measures. In addition to drinking more water, you can also apply ice compresses. The areas where ice compresses are applied are generally the forehead and one armpit, and both armpits can be applied alternately, but you must be careful that the temperature of the ice compress should not be too low. If a child has a fever, local cold compresses can be applied to the forehead and both sides of the carotid artery. Wrap the ice in a towel to prevent local frostbite. Warm water can be used on the armpits, chest, palms and soles, and groin. 2. Ice Put ice cubes in a hot water bottle, or wrap them in a towel and place them on the child's forehead or back of the head. Check the local skin frequently and change the position to prevent frostbite. 3. Note Use a towel between the ice pack and the skin (for patients with wounds, if the wound is healing smoothly (as determined by the doctor), keep 2 layers of dressings and add a layer of plastic wrap to prevent moisture instead of a towel); generally speaking, each ice compress for joint injuries or postoperative rehabilitation exercises should last about 20 minutes, and the first ice compress may last for 25-30 minutes, so that the entire injured area will feel "cool"; it should be reminded that if the skin is cold and painful for 5 minutes, the ice compress should be stopped to prevent frostbite; the interval between two ice compresses is 40-60 minutes. For mild injuries (little bruising and no obvious swelling), ice compresses can be applied 3-5 times; for severe injuries (much bruising and obvious swelling), the number should be increased to 6-8 times. |
