Tonsillitis and ear pain

Tonsillitis and ear pain

As we all know, if one part of the body becomes inflamed, it can easily affect the surrounding organs. Tonsillitis can cause ear pain in many people. This is mainly because the inflammation spreads and affects the ear nerves. If this happens, it means that the tonsillitis is already very serious and the patient needs timely treatment. Only by eliminating the inflammation as quickly as possible can the ear return to normal.

What causes ear pain due to peach inflammation?

1 Most earaches are caused by ear diseases, and a few are radiating pains. The main reason why tonsillitis causes earache is that tonsillitis affects the palatopharyngeal muscles, which in turn involves the pharyngeal opening of the Eustachian tube, causing earache.

2 Generally speaking, if the ear pain caused by tonsillitis is not serious in the early stages, it can be relieved as long as active and effective treatment measures are taken. However, if tonsillitis has not been effectively treated, or even if the treatment effect is insignificant, it may cause otitis media, and severe patients may even experience perforation of the eardrum.

3 If the ear pain is caused by radiating pain from tonsillitis, you should consider taking treatment measures for tonsillitis. Generally, antibiotics are the first choice for treatment. If symptoms of otitis media occur during treatment, otitis media should be treated at the same time. If your ear pain is severe, you can consider taking painkillers for temporary relief, but do not take them for a long time to avoid dependence.

4 In addition to tonsillitis causing ear pain, there are many other reasons that can cause ear pain, such as: 1. Otitis externa: When there is discomfort in the ear, some people like to dig in the ear with nails, hairpins, etc., which can easily puncture the skin of the ear canal and cause infection and inflammation. At this time, there is not only ear pain but also bleeding. 2. External auditory canal furuncle: When external otitis is not treated in time, or when the patient is old and weak, suffers from diabetes, or the skin of the ear canal is immersed in water for a long time and the skin surface resistance is weakened, ear canal furuncle is often prone to occur. The furuncle will gradually swell and fester, blocking the ear canal and causing pain. 3. Acute otitis media: When bacterial infection occurs in the middle ear cavity, the pus continues to increase and directly compresses the pain-sensitive eardrum, causing intermittent pain in the ear, which may be throbbing pain. 4. Ear herpes: Ear herpes is related to viral infection and is more common on the auricle. The ear pain caused is like a needle prick or burning. A few people may also have facial nerve paralysis, hearing loss, nausea, vomiting and other symptoms. 5. Earwax: Earwax is commonly known as "earwax", which is secreted by the cerumen glands under the skin of the ear canal. When earwax accumulates, it can block the ear canal and affect hearing. Once water enters the ear canal, the earwax will expand and press tightly against the ear canal, causing ear pain. 6. Ear tumor: When a malignant tumor grows in the ear canal or middle ear cavity, as the disease progresses, symptoms such as ear canal bleeding and hearing loss will appear, as well as ear pain of varying degrees. 7. Ear neuralgia: There are many nerves around the ear. When the ear is exposed to too strong or too long noise or unexplained stimulation, it often causes ear pain. The pain is usually intermittent and usually tolerable. No lesions can be found during examination.
