Corneal detachment is mostly caused by inflammation. Although corneal detachment does not seem serious, it is actually very harmful. Therefore, it will cause problems with the patient's vision, including the eyes. In severe cases, it can cause blindness. It needs to be repaired and replaced with an artificial cornea through surgery to achieve a certain therapeutic effect. Corneal detachment can be treated with corneal transplantation, but the cornea is sometimes difficult to find. I don't know whether your grandmother's cornea is detached or the retina is detached; If it is retinal detachment, the most common symptom is that the vision is suddenly affected, but the patient's eyes are not red and painful. At the beginning, there is a feeling of flashing and suddenly many floaters appear in front of the eyes, as if there is a cloud and fog blocking it, and a black shadow gradually moves from one side to the center, so the vision gradually weakens. Since the precursor symptoms of retinal detachment are flashes, hallucinations or floaters, and finally lead to sudden blindness, it belongs to the scope of sudden blindness in traditional Chinese medicine ophthalmology. The earliest famous book in traditional Chinese medicine ophthalmology is called "Shenzhen Yaohan", which mentions that the cause of this disease is liver and kidney deficiency, qi and yin deficiency, and the eyes are not nourished, or due to spleen and kidney deficiency, the water metabolism is abnormal and the eyes are flooded. There are four types of syndromes in traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of retinal detachment: liver and kidney deficiency, spleen and kidney dampness, qi and yin deficiency, liver meridian stagnation, and different prescriptions are used to treat different types of diseases. Basic Introduction The cornea is completely transparent, located in the front of the eyeball, and is transversely oval in shape. The cornea, which accounts for 1/6 of the outer wall of the eyeball, and the sclera together constitute the outer wall tissue of the eyeball. The cornea is a convex, highly transparent substance at the front of the eye that covers the iris, pupil, and anterior chamber and provides most of the eye's refractive power. Combined with the refractive power of the lens, light can be accurately focused on the retina to form an image. The cornea has very sensitive nerve endings. If foreign objects touch the cornea, the eyelids will close involuntarily to protect the eyes. In order to remain transparent, the cornea has no blood vessels and obtains nutrients and oxygen through tears and aqueous humor. Specific analysis The cornea is completely transparent and occupies about the front 1/6 of the fibrous membrane. It is a perfect circle when viewed from the back and a transverse ellipse when viewed from the front. The average transverse diameter of the cornea of adult males is 11.04mm, and that of females is 10.05mm. The average vertical diameter is 10.13mm for males and 10.08mm for females. The corneal diameter of children over 3 years old is close to that of adults. The circular area with a diameter of about 4 mm in the central pupil area is approximately spherical, and the radius of curvature at each point is basically equal. However, the cornea in the middle and marginal areas outside the central area is relatively flat, and the radius of curvature at each point is also not equal. Measured from the front of the cornea, the radius of curvature is 7.8mm in the horizontal direction, 7.7mm in the vertical direction, and the radius of curvature of the posterior surface is 6.22-6.8mm. The thickness of the cornea varies from part to part. The central part is the thinnest, averaging 0.5mm, and the peripheral part is about 1mm. The front and back surfaces of the cornea can be approximately considered as spherical surfaces, with the radius of curvature being 7.7 mm (front surface) and 6.8 mm (back surface), respectively. So the cornea looks like a concave half-moon lens on the cut surface. |
