What should I do if I use potassium permanganate in my eyes?

Potassium permanganate is a very common disinfectant in daily life. Sometimes we accidentally drop potassium permanganate into our eyes when using it. At this time, we need to rinse it quickly with plenty of water, because the diluted potassium permanganate generally does not cause much harm. If you still feel uncomfortable after rinsing with water, or your vision has problems, then you need to seek medical attention immediately and do not delay, otherwise it will affect the condition.

Whether the fish tank is clean enough has a great influence on whether the fish in the fish tank can live long. Therefore, cleaning and disinfection of the fish tank is a very critical issue for the life of the fish. So how do you clean the fish tank and how do you clean and disinfect it? The fish tank not only needs to be cleaned and disinfected during use, but it is also very important to clean it before use. Before using a new fish tank, it must be thoroughly cleaned and can be used if there is no leakage after filling it with water.

There are many materials and tools for cleaning fish tanks. Today I will share the cleaning methods and precautions of potassium permanganate!

Use cold boiled water to prepare the solution, as hot water will make it ineffective.

Method of using potassium permanganate to disinfect [fish tank] 1. Take out the fish and soak the fish tank with about 3%-5% potassium permanganate. After 30 minutes, pour out the soaking water and add new water. 2. Without removing the fish, disinfect with 0.5ppm (0.00005%) potassium permanganate. Method of using potassium permanganate to disinfect fish: 1. Use medication in the fish tank, use 1ppm-2ppm (that is, 0.0001%-0.0002%) potassium permanganate (it must be diluted before pouring into the fish tank, and concentrated potassium permanganate cannot be directly poured into the fish tank.) 2. Take the fish out and soak them, use 0.5% for disinfection, use 1%-3% potassium permanganate for mild illnesses, soak for 15-20 minutes, and use 5% for serious illnesses, soak for 15-20 minutes. Then put it back in clean water and let it rest for 30 minutes, then put it back in the original tank and observe the subsequent situation. 3. For fish that are sensitive to drugs, the dosage should be appropriately reduced.

Using this method, which usually lasts for 2-3 days, can effectively kill parasites such as protozoa, monogenean trematodes and anchor fleas. To remove the potassium permanganate by-products after disinfection (usually manganese dioxide), it is necessary to change the water multiple times to slowly remove them. However, according to the principles of calculus, these residues can only approach 0 infinitely. However, the harm to fish can be ignored.

The manganese in potassium permanganate is a heavy metal and cannot be eaten. Please wash your hands after using it.

Adding potassium permanganate is very dangerous to fish. Incorrect dosage will burn the fish's gills and cause great harm to the fish; it will also kill nitrifying bacteria and damage the water's microcirculation system. So don't add potassium permanganate unless absolutely necessary. If ulcers appear on the fish's body, you can take the fish out, apply potassium permanganate on the ulcer, then gently rinse off the potassium permanganate on the surface with water and put it back into the water.

When raising fish, you can go to the fish market and buy some salt specifically for fish farming and sterilization, then dilute it and put it into the water.
