Nursing measures for fatty liver

Various types of liver diseases have long become one of the diseases that seriously threaten human health. Fatty liver is undoubtedly a major type of liver disease. There are more and more people suffering from fatty liver, most of which are related to bad eating habits and irregular lifestyle. Some patients with fatty liver do not take it seriously and still eat a lot of meat and fish, and do not exercise more. They either sit and play with their mobile phones or eat melon seeds while watching TV all day. As a result, they develop severe fatty liver and eventually lead to cirrhosis. This shows the importance of active care for fatty liver.

10 tips to help you take care of fatty liver

1. Adhere to long-term exercise and encourage patients to choose sports that suit them according to their individual differences and the nature of their work, such as walking, jogging, Tai Chi, Qigong, gymnastics, etc., and adhere to long-term exercise.

2. Provide good psychological care and patiently promote health knowledge to patients to increase their understanding of fatty liver, guide patients to eliminate their fears, maintain an optimistic mood, and consciously accept diet, healthy exercise and drug treatment.

3. Closely observe, promptly treat, and provide health guidance to patients with fatty liver. For more serious patients or those with abnormal liver function, they will be hospitalized for treatment. For general patients, they are advised to adhere to outpatient treatment, and are guided to have regular B-ultrasound examinations and blood tests for liver function, blood lipids, blood routine tests, etc. to prevent the occurrence of complications.

4. Dietary adjustment. The main way to control fatty liver is to adjust the dietary structure, control diet, limit the intake of cholesterol, saturated fat, sugar and alcohol, and increase antioxidant vitamins and fiber-rich foods.

5. Quit bad living habits. Smoking has adverse effects on blood lipids. TG is positively correlated with smoking, and alcoholics often have increased TG. Acetaldehyde, the intermediate metabolite of alcohol, is a direct damage to the liver. Therefore, patients should quit smoking, lose weight, and avoid drinking strong alcohol.

6. The diet for fatty liver care should not be too refined. It should be a combination of coarse and fine grains, and eat more vegetables, fruits, fungi and algae to ensure adequate intake of dietary fiber.

7. Patients with fatty liver should ensure the intake of fresh vegetables and fruits, especially green leafy vegetables, to meet the body's needs for vitamins and minerals. Drink water in moderation to promote body metabolism and excretion of metabolic waste. The diet should be light and limit salt intake.

8. People with mild and moderate fatty liver should pay attention to strengthening physical exercise. Aerobic exercises such as swimming, walking, cycling, and playing table tennis are suitable, which can increase the body's energy consumption and promote the decomposition of fat.

9. A moderate diet means controlling high-energy, high-sugar, and high-fat diets. First of all, we need to control heat energy, aim to reduce our weight to a standard weight, and make energy consumption higher than energy intake.

10. Eat more side dishes, limit staple foods, quit smoking and limit alcohol, especially limit fatty foods; do not eat or eat less sweets, fried foods, broth, chicken soup, and fish soup; do not eat animal offal, egg yolks, and other high-cholesterol foods.
