One side of the nose is always blocked

Nasal congestion is a common phenomenon in life, for example, it can occur when you have a cold or catch a chill. If one side of the nose is always blocked, it will have a great impact on breathing and make people uncomfortable. The key is to pay attention to the frequent occurrence of the problem, which may be caused by rhinitis. The cause should be found out as soon as possible and symptomatic treatment should be carried out to achieve good improvement results. Next, let’s look at the situation where one side of the nose is always blocked.

1. Symptoms of chronic simple rhinitis: intermittent or alternating nasal congestion, mostly paroxysmal or alternating, lighter during the day and heavier at night, often affected by body position. When lying in bed, the nasal congestion is more severe in the lower nasal cavity, accompanied by a small amount of mucous or mucopurulent nasal discharge. The nasal congestion causes headaches and decreased sense of smell.

Solution: Mainly use drug treatment. If the symptoms do not improve significantly, microwave, laser or other treatments can be used.

2. Symptoms of acute rhinitis: that is, what we usually call colds, nasal congestion, headache, fear of cold, body aches or joint pains, accompanied by cough and itchy throat. It develops very quickly, usually reaching a climax within a few days, and can disappear on its own in about a week.

Solution: Drink more water, wipe with alcohol to cool down the body externally, and take some antipyretic and anti-inflammatory drugs. Go to the hospital in time when symptoms worsen.

What to do if your nose is blocked

1. Prevent and treat acne

Pimples and acne on the nose will affect the appearance and cause nasal discomfort. To prevent the occurrence of acne, you should pay attention to skin hygiene and keep the sebaceous glands and hair follicles unobstructed.

Tips: Eat more vegetables, keep your bowel movements regular, eat less or no irritating foods, and don’t drink alcohol. Do not squeeze the pimples and acne around the nose with your hands to avoid adverse consequences.

2. Don’t pick your nose

Picking the nose with fingers frequently is not only unsightly but also a bad hygiene habit. It can cause nose hair to fall out, damage the mucous membrane, and rupture blood vessels, leading to bleeding. Picking your nose can also cause nasal infection, and in severe cases it can even harm brain health. Excessively dry and polluted air often restricts the dust-removal movement of the nose, and even causes cilia to fall off, reducing the antibacterial ability. Prone to colds, sinusitis and other diseases.

Tips: Open windows frequently to ventilate the room to keep the air moist and fresh. Cutting nose hair is also a bad habit that will weaken the nasal defense function.
