Why are eyes afraid of light? How to prevent eyes from being afraid of light?

We usually find that when our eyes encounter strong light, they will instinctively close their eyes and feel it is dazzling. This is a relatively normal phenomenon. However, some people cannot stand even a little light. This situation is mostly due to eye problems. As we age, our eyes gradually age, and aging is also a type of fear of light. At the same time, fear of light may also be caused by inflammation of the eyes, such as conjunctivitis, dry eyes, etc., so we should pay more attention to protecting our eyes.

In addition to natural aging, the eyes' fear of light may also be a reaction to some inflammation. For example, dry eyes, conjunctivitis, keratitis and other eye diseases may cause the eyes to be afraid of light. In addition, long periods of reading, watching TV, using a computer, or being in a dim environment for a long time may cause photophobia. Therefore, the treatment methods and effects of photophobia caused by different reasons are also different.

For example, fear of light caused by some eye diseases, such as fear of light caused by dry eyes, is due to insufficient tear secretion by the lacrimal glands, coupled with long-term exposure to dry air and lack of moisture. At this time, you can drop some artificial tears in an appropriate amount to promote the tear glands of the eyes to secrete tears, which can prevent the eyes from being afraid of light.

If the fear of light is caused by natural phenomena, such as eye aging, it is generally caused by the weakening of the eye's visual function when people reach a certain age. At this time, you can go to a professional eyewear store and wear appropriate reading glasses to control the aging phenomenon and avoid photophobia.

If insufficient tear secretion is caused by long-term, high-intensity, irregular, or unhygienic eye use, you should pay more attention to rest and get enough sleep. Or you can eat more foods containing vitamins A, C, E, protein and calcium ions to improve the eyes' ability to resist external stimuli and avoid the occurrence of photophobia.
