Under normal circumstances, if we pinch our nose with our hands, we will not be able to feel the air coming out of our ears. Otherwise, it may cause perforation of the eardrum, because the human ear and throat are connected through the Eustachian tube. If you pinch your nose and hold your breath, it will cause the pressure in the throat to increase, and then the air pressure will affect the air pressure in the middle ear through the Eustachian tube. Therefore, it is normal to have blocked ears due to pinching your nose and blowing air. Symptoms of Myringitis Sudden severe ear pain, ear fullness or mild hearing loss. Examination may reveal congestion of the eardrum and adjacent external auditory canal skin, with one or more red or purple blood blisters often appearing above and behind the eardrum. When the blood blister ruptures, a small amount of bloody exudate may flow out, forming a thin scab and gradually healing. In mild cases, the fluid in the blood blister can be absorbed and a thin scab may form. Differential Diagnosis Mainly differentiated from acute otitis media. ① Although the tympanic membrane is acutely congested in acute otitis media, blood blisters are generally not formed. ②The main lesion site of acute otitis media is the middle ear, while the main lesion site of bullous myringitis is the tympanic membrane. ③Acute otitis media is not closely related to Eustachian tube lesions. ④Acute otitis media is mainly treated with antibiotics, while bullous myringitis is mainly treated with antiviral drugs. In the treatment of tympanitis, choose appropriate antibiotics, such as broad-spectrum or oxytocin. Provide analgesic treatment when necessary. If it is caused by a cold, it must be combined with corticosteroids. If there is a big lump, you can prick it under strict disinfection. If the eardrum is not perforated, you can apply 2% phenol glycerin into the ear. If it has been perforated, it is strictly forbidden to apply medicine into the ear. The lower structure of the tympanic membrane is dense, consisting of three layers from the outside to the inside: the epithelium, the fibrous layer, and the mucosal layer, which is called the tense part; the upper part lacks the middle fibrous layer, so the structure is relatively loose, which is called the flaccid part. When the eardrum becomes inflamed, it can cause hearing loss, ear pain, and a feeling of fullness in the ear. The treatment of tympanitis is not complicated, but it should be taken seriously enough. Different treatments should be adopted according to the different degrees of tympanitis to achieve good rehabilitation results. As the saying goes, treat the disease if you have it, and prevent it if you don't. Tympanitis experts recommend that patients with tympanitis go to a professional ENT hospital for examination in time so that they can receive symptomatic treatment for the tympanitis. At the same time, preventive measures in life are also essential. |
