The two eyeballs bulge out differently

The two eyeballs bulge out differently

The eyeballs are slightly protruding because only in this way can we see things outside. However, if the two eyeballs protrude at different angles, with one leaning forward and the other leaning backward, we must be careful as this may be a problem with our personal physical condition, such as illness, inflammation, or tumor vascular disease.

Causes of symptoms

1. Inflammatory

Acute orbital cellulitis, panophthalmitis, orbital periostitis, suppurative fasciitis, cavernous sinus thrombosis, inflammatory pseudotumor, syphilis, tuberculosis, etc.

2. Tumor

1. Primary: hemangioma, dermoid cyst, meningioma, neurilemmoma, optic nerve glioma, lymphoma, lacrimal gland tumor, rhabdomyosarcoma, orbital bone tumor.

2. Secondary: Extension from tumors of the eyeball and ocular appendages (retinoblastoma, choroidal malignant melanoma, eyelid, conjunctival squamous cell carcinoma, eyelid basal cell carcinoma, malignant melanoma, meibomian gland carcinoma), spread from the sinuses (ethmoid or frontal sinus cysts, maxillary sinus or ethmoid sinus cancer). Metastasis from tumors of other organs or blood diseases (lung cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer, chloroma).

3. Vascular

Intraorbital and cavernous sinus arteriovenous fistulas, orbital varicose veins.

4. Endocrine

Graves' disease, or endocrine exophthalmos.

(V) Traumatic

Orbital bone fracture, orbital hematoma.

6. Parasitic

(VII) Others

Common syndromes of exophthalmos include Crouzon syndrome (congenital craniofacial dysplasia), Gruber syndrome (craniofacial dysplasia), Apert syndrome, etc.
