1. Smell. Real single flower honey will have a unique fragrance of herbal plants, mixed honey has a natural floral scent, and fake honey on the market often has flavors added. All kinds of honey seem to smell the same, some have the taste of sucrose, some have the taste of spices, and the taste is relatively strong.

2. Look, honey is a business that depends on the weather. In spring and summer, because the air is humid and the water content is relatively high, the honey is relatively thinner, and there will definitely be a layer of fine active foam (small white bubbles) on the surface, which will not disappear for at least half an hour after shaking; while in autumn and winter, the honey will be thicker, and basically most of it will be crystallized. The fake honey on the market usually does not change throughout the year.

3. Taste it, it’s real honey, sweet and slightly sour, soft and delicate in texture, refreshing and soft, with a long and fragrant aftertaste. When you taste the crystals, they feel crispy when you bite them and melt in your mouth. Although fake honey tastes sweet, it is mixed with sugar or spice flavors, has a weak throat feeling, and the aftertaste is light and short. 4. Burn. Insert a red-hot iron wire into the honey. If it is real honey, you can see clear smoke coming out after the iron wire is inserted, but you can still smell the fragrance of fruits and flowers. If it is mixed with white sugar, it will emit a burnt smell.
