Tips to reduce swelling from mosquito bites

If your lips are bitten by a mosquito, they will swell up and you will feel numbness in your lips. Eating will be greatly affected and you will feel very uncomfortable. In this case, you must find a way to reduce the swelling. In fact, there is no need to use medication, as all medicines are toxic. As long as you eat more light and diuretic foods, the swollen area will gradually begin to reduce the swelling.

1. Don’t eat too salty food. To prevent bloating, reduce your salt intake in the week before your period. It is enough to consume about 2-3 grams of salt a day. Therefore, eat less salty food, less smoked food, less meat products, and do not eat food containing sauce.

2. Do not eat starchy foods after 5 pm. Starch has a strong ability to absorb water. The worst thing is to eat a lot of starchy foods, such as pasta and potatoes, and then go to bed, and you will feel very swollen when you wake up in the morning. Note that rice wine brewed from cereals is also a starchy drink.

3. Take more calcium. One week before your period starts, you should take in at least 1,200 mg of calcium a day and drink plenty of skim milk. According to the latest research, women can prevent edema by taking enough calcium every day. The best drinks are grapefruit juice and orange juice, which are fortified with calcium.

4. Smooth excretion. A good metabolism removes excess water. If you take 400-800 mg of magnesium and vitamin B6 every day, they will become natural diuretics and are very helpful in eliminating edema.

5. Pay attention to exercise. The most basic exercise is to do aerobics for at least 20 minutes. Water lubricates the intestines and aids digestion. What interrupts digestion is inactivity. Exercise activates the body's functions, especially increasing the activity of the stomach and intestines.

Apply ice. If you wake up in the morning and find that your face is swollen, the best thing to do is to apply ice. Washing your face with ice water or applying a facial mask will quickly reduce the swelling, but this is only a temporary solution and not a permanent cure, so you still need to work hard on your eating habits and exercise.

Cold compress, applied to the affected area, has the main purpose of promoting local vasoconstriction, controlling bleeding from small blood vessels and reducing pain from large tension lumps, thereby achieving the effect of reducing swelling and relieving pain. For patients with high fever, applying cold compress to the forehead and back of the neck can lower body temperature and improve discomfort.
