What to do if you are constipated and always fart?

What to do if you are constipated and always fart?

White-collar workers who always sit in front of computers to work every day often experience difficulty in defecation and tend to fart a lot. An average healthy person farts about a dozen times a day. But if you fart frequently and it smells particularly bad, and you haven’t had a bowel movement for several days, you should be careful about constipation. If the smelly farts stop once the stool is passed, this is more likely caused by constipation. Constipation and frequent smelly farts are usually caused by stool accumulation in the intestines.

1. What is the reason for constipation and frequent farts?

Constipation and smelly farts are considered symptoms of indigestion. People who suffer from constipation often have the problem of constantly farting but being unable to empty their stomachs. This is because feces accumulate in the intestines, producing farts, but they cannot be expelled, so the stomach repeatedly makes rumbling sounds and farts.

2. What to do if you are constipated and fart a lot

It is recommended to maintain a balanced diet and eat more fiber-rich foods to help clean the intestines, such as celery, leeks, bananas, honey, etc., and massage the abdomen clockwise to promote intestinal peristalsis and facilitate defecation.

3. What is constipation?

Constipation is a common complex symptom in clinical practice, rather than a disease. It mainly refers to reduced frequency of bowel movements, reduced stool volume, dry stool, and difficulty in defecation. When two or more of the above symptoms exist at the same time, symptomatic constipation can be diagnosed. The main symptom is usually a decrease in the frequency of bowel movements. Constipation usually occurs when a bowel movement occurs every 2 to 3 days or longer (or < 3 times a week).

4. The harm and treatment of constipation

Constipation is mostly caused by drinking too little water, weak intestinal motility and untimely defecation. Long-term constipation can induce hemorrhoids, anal fissures and other diseases. Patients with constipation need to adopt comprehensive treatment according to the severity, cause and type of constipation, including general lifestyle treatment, drug treatment, biofeedback training and surgical treatment to restore normal bowel movement physiology. Pay attention to lifestyle treatment and adopt reasonable eating habits, such as increasing the content of dietary fiber, increasing the amount of water to enhance stimulation to the colon, and develop good bowel habits.

5. Treatment of constipation

1. Wash 1000-1500g of fresh lotus root, blanch it in boiling water, mash it to extract the juice, and drink it with boiled water, twice a day; or use 500g of fresh lotus root without nodes and 50g of ginger, wash and chop it, squeeze the juice with sterilized gauze, and drink it with boiled water.

2. Grind 750 grams of corn cobs, 6 grams of Phellodendron chinense, and 6 grams of dried ginger into fine powder. Take 3 grams three times a day with warm water.

3. The diet is smooth. Dietary Pass contains ingredients such as lotus leaves, hawthorn, cassia seeds, etc. Among them, lotus leaves have the effects of relieving heat and dampness, strengthening the spleen and raising yang; hawthorn has the effects of promoting fluid production and quenching thirst, eliminating accumulation and digesting food, promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, and nourishing the spleen and strengthening the stomach. Effectively improve constipation.

6. Experts’ reminder

1. Constipation may indicate a potential serious illness, although it does not occur frequently.

2. Constipation itself is usually not a serious problem. However, if severe symptoms occur, persist for more than 3 weeks, or if you have difficulty moving or blood in your stool, you should see a doctor.

3. If constipation is accompanied by abdominal swelling, it may indicate intestinal obstruction.
