Tips on how to remove odor from clothes

There are many reasons why clothes have odor. Many clothes that we don’t wear for a long time and don’t wash will also have a peculiar smell after being left for a long time. Or if you like to sweat a lot, your clothes will emit an unpleasant odor, which is more likely to occur in the summer. Don't worry if you encounter this situation, some small tricks can quickly improve it. So, what are the tips for removing odor from clothes? Let’s take a look below.

1. We can use salt to deal with it. Because salt can disinfect, sterilize and prevent cotton cloth from fading, new clothes must be soaked in salt water before wearing.

2. After taking a shower, hang the smelly clothes in the bathroom and close the door. When you take them out early the next morning, the clothes will be completely free of smell.

3. Use activated carbon to absorb odors.

4. No matter how new and clean the new clothes look, they should be washed before wearing. This is because new clothes will have some bacteria inside. You can soak the new clothes for a while, and then start washing them with clean water several times. Finally, dry them in a ventilated place, and the odor on the clothes will be eliminated a lot.

5. If the clothes have a strong odor, you can try using fabric softener. Fabric softener can remove static electricity from clothes and give them a natural scent. After washing the new clothes with clean water, add a small amount of softener and then add enough water to cover the clothes. Soak for about 10 minutes and then let it dry.

6. High temperature water can sometimes remove odors. But clothes will generally shrink and become smaller if soaked in high temperature. Some clothes are afraid of high temperature washing. You can check whether your material is suitable for high-temperature soaking. Generally soak it for 4 hours, then wash it with clean water and finally dry it.

7. You can soak new clothes in laundry detergent and warm water for a while, until the warm water covers the clothes. Soak for as long as possible, about 3 hours, so that the clothes will smell nice. Finally, rinse it several times with clean water.

Tips: Sunlight can kill bacteria very well. You can check the instructions on the clothes to see if they can be dried in the sun. If possible, get more sun.
