What to do if baby has eczema and scabs on his ears

The baby may develop eczema around the ears due to dry skin. Eczema will make the baby feel itchy, so the baby may involuntarily reach out to get the number. At this time, parents must stop it. Eczema will gradually form scabs during the recovery process. During this period, parents should take good care of their babies and not let them touch the scabs of eczema with their hands. So what should you do if your baby has eczema scabs on his ears?

If the baby has eczema on his ears, his ears may itch. At this time, the baby will scratch his ears with his hands. If the scratches are broken, it may cause infection. Therefore, it is recommended that mothers put thin cotton gloves on the baby, or gently wrap the baby's hands with soft cloth.

Notice:

When wrapping your baby's hands with cloth, be careful to prevent the thread from getting tangled around the baby's fingers.

What to do if your baby has ear eczema: Clean your baby's ears

When cleaning your baby's ears, dip a cotton swab in warm water and wipe gently. When bathing your baby, be careful to prevent water from entering the baby's ears, which may aggravate eczema and cause infection.

Notice:

When washing your baby's face, be careful not to touch his ears. Also, do not use soap or bath gel to wash your baby's face or bathe him. Just use clean water.

What to do with baby's ear eczema: topical medication

1. Calamine

Calamine can be bought at pharmacies. It is non-irritating. Just dip a cotton swab in it and apply it to the areas where your baby has eczema. Calamine mainly keeps the skin dry by absorbing moisture. It only needs to be used a few times. It is cheap and effective.

2. Compound zinc oxide ointment

This ointment actually works on the same principle as calamine, absorbing moisture through zinc oxide.

Notice:

It is not recommended to use ointments containing hormones such as Fuqingsong for children. They may be effective in the short term, but long-term use can easily cause hormone allergic dermatitis. In addition, children's skin is delicate, and absorbing hormones will suppress their immune system because hormones themselves are immunosuppressants.

How to treat baby's ear eczema: Apply vegetable oil

If there are scabs on your baby's ears, you can use cooking oil at home (peanut oil or sesame oil) and apply it again the next day. Repeat this several times and the scabs will be easily removed.
