What are the benefits of practicing Tai Chi

Tai Chi is a relatively traditional sport in China. People learn Tai Chi more for fitness. Practicing Tai Chi does have many benefits. For example, it can make people's nervous system more sensitive. Practicing Tai Chi more often can also make the body's blood vessels, meridians and other circulatory systems more unobstructed, making the body stronger. Practicing Tai Chi regularly can also help improve cardiopulmonary function.

By practicing Tai Chi, we can effectively exercise our muscles and at the same time it can also have a good effect of relaxing muscles and tendons. In addition, while practicing, the coordination between breathing and movements can also massage and exercise the internal organs, thereby enhancing our body's physical fitness and improving disease resistance, which are very important for the elderly.

Increases sensitivity of the nervous system

To practice Tai Chi, one must keep a calm mind and focus. When practicing Tai Chi, one must first allow the cerebral cortex to rest (calm mind), and then leave the task of coordinating the functions of the body's internal and external organs to the central nervous system (focused mind), thereby enhancing the sensitivity of the nervous system.

Unblock meridians, blood vessels, lymphatic and circulatory systems

Since the time spent practicing Tai Chi is not too short, it can make the blood and qi flow smoothly just like general aerobic exercise. After practicing for some time, you will notice numbness and tenderness in your fingertips, slight crackling in your joints, tingling, and abdominal rumbling. According to Chinese medical theory, this is a reflection of the unblocked meridians.

Improve cardiopulmonary function

When practicing Tai Chi, you need to keep your breathing natural and solid. Through deep, long, fine, slow and even abdominal breathing methods, you can increase the gas capacity of the chest cavity and increase the number of times you inhale and exhale oxygen, ensuring that gases can be fully exchanged and relatively increasing the amount of oxygen available to various organs. Because Tai Chi practice takes a long time, this aerobic activity can train and improve cardiopulmonary function.

Treating chronic digestive tract diseases

When practicing boxing, the joints, muscles and bones will pull, entangle, squeeze and relax each other, and the internal organs will produce a self-massage effect due to abdominal breathing (abdomen and chest are solid); plus the diaphragm's up and down range increases, which has a positive stimulating effect on intestinal peristalsis; and when practicing boxing, pressing the tongue against the palate and lightly closing the lips and teeth can increase the secretion of saliva and improve digestive function.
