Is it normal for wine to taste a bit sour?

Wine is a common type of alcoholic beverage. The taste of wine is more or less sour, which is normal because tartaric acid is secreted when making wine. Generally speaking, the taste of wine is not very strong, it is just slightly present, and the organic acids in wine have many benefits for the body, and also have beauty effects for female friends.

The main source of wine sourness: Tartaric Acid:

1. The acid taste is not very strong, but refreshing and stable. It is generally the organic acid with the highest content in wine. The tartaric acid in wine comes from the grapes themselves, which are fruits with high tartaric acid content.

2. Wine diamonds formed by tartrate crystals. Most of the tartaric acid in wine exists in the form of tartrate, which is easily soluble in water but not in wine. It will crystallize and precipitate when exposed to low temperatures, forming the so-called "wine diamonds" on the bottle wall, cork or bottom of the bottle.

3. Wine diamonds indicate to some extent that the quality of this wine is more mature and stable, but they are only found in a very small number of wines.

Additional information:

1. The abundance or lack of acidity in wine will be reflected in its appearance. Wine rich in acid will have a brighter color and a lustrous appearance; if it lacks acidity, the wine will appear dull and look like expired grape juice.

2. Wines from cold regions usually have higher acidity. This is because the short sunshine hours and low temperatures lead to insufficient maturity of the grapes, which increases the acidity of the grapes and naturally leads to high acidity in the wine produced.

3. Wines produced in warm regions usually have fully ripe grapes, which reduces the acidity of the grapes and naturally reduces the acidity of the wine. Next time you see a wine produced in a hot region that still has plenty of acidity, remember to take your hat off to the winemaker.
