What is the function of hyaluronic acid

What is the function of hyaluronic acid

Ladies are very familiar with various skin care products. Some are mainly for whitening, some are for moisturizing, and the brands of skin care products used are also different. However, what most beauty-conscious ladies are increasingly favoring is hyaluronic acid, but what is the function of hyaluronic acid? It has many functions, such as absorbing moisture to make the skin more delicate, and repairing sunburned skin.

1. Absorb moisture

Hyaluronic acid can help the skin absorb a lot of moisture. With moisture, the skin can naturally maintain elasticity and softness. Using a small amount of hyaluronic acid as a moisturizer, compressing and packaging the million-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid and applying it to the skin can absorb about 1,000 times its own weight in water, refilling the epidermal cells and smoothing wrinkles. By replenishing it daily, the cells will naturally become filled up.

2. Repair and water conservation

Hyaluronic acid is also an important component in the skin and has the function of repairing epidermal tissue. When skin tissue is exposed to UVB rays, the skin will be sunburned and inflamed, the dermis will stop producing hyaluronic acid, and the rate of hyaluronic acid decline will be accelerated. Hyaluronic acid exists in large quantities in the connective tissue and dermis of the human body. It has strong water absorption and moisturizing functions. It can also enhance the skin's ability to retain water for a long time. It can help elastic fibers and collagen to be in a moisture-filled environment, making the skin appear more elastic.

3. Lock in moisture

Hyaluronic acid can gradually form a water-rich film in the stratum corneum, while transporting moisture in a step-by-step manner from the inside to the outside. Therefore, when the environment is dry, it is necessary to rely on sealants to reduce the evaporation of water to the outside in order to maintain long-term moisturizing. Occlusives form a thin film on the surface of the skin that prevents moisture from escaping.
