Patients with premenstrual syndrome may experience insomnia, depression, and frequent crying for no reason. They may also experience cognitive dysfunction, such as memory loss and lack of concentration, which reduces work efficiency.

In the first half of the menstrual period, i.e. the follicular period, the root cause should be treated according to the patient's constitution and syndrome differentiation. In the intermenstrual period, a small amount of invigorating kidney yang products can be used to help promote the qi and make the transformation of yin and yang smooth, which is beneficial to the regulation of qi and blood in the premenstrual period. After the ovulation period, the patient's symptoms will appear one after another. The principle of treatment should be to treat the symptoms at the same time, with the main focus on treating the symptoms, or soothing the liver and regulating qi, removing blood stasis and relieving pain; or strengthening the spleen and replenishing qi, removing dampness and stopping diarrhea.

Or nourish the kidney and nourish yin, nourish yin and clear away heat, while taking into account the physical type; during menstruation, focus on activating blood circulation and regulating menstruation to make menstruation smooth without leaving stagnation. The key to treatment is to focus on the late ovulation and premenstrual period, adjust the relationship between the internal organs and Chong and Ren meridians, and restore their functional state to a relatively coordinated and balanced state.
