In life, it is normal to have diarrhea due to catching a cold or eating something bad, but some people not only have diarrhea but also feel nauseous. What is going on? In fact, there are many reasons for such symptoms, and it may also be caused by diseases such as gastroenteritis. Therefore, patients must go to the hospital for examination in a timely and effective manner to find the cause of the disease before targeted treatment. Here are some common causes of diarrhea and nausea.

Causes of diarrhea and nausea

1. Eating the wrong thing.

It is more likely that you have eaten the wrong thing, or you have abdominal pain and nausea caused by tension before menstruation. You have to distinguish whether it is the pain of wanting to go to the toilet or dysmenorrhea. If it is just diarrhea, take some anti-inflammatory drugs for the gastrointestinal tract and it will be fine. If it is dysmenorrhea caused by tension, then there is no way, just relax. It is estimated that it will only be one or two days, because even people with constipation and dryness will have smooth bowel movements before and during menstruation, and even a little loose bowels. I don’t know why specifically, but this is the case for me.

2. Gastroenteritis and other diseases

Nausea and vomiting are common in digestive system diseases, such as acute gastroenteritis, hepatitis, etc. They can also occur in other diseases, such as brain diseases. During nausea and vomiting, there is a special discomfort in the upper abdomen, often with pale complexion, dizziness, increased saliva, etc. Nausea is sometimes accompanied by vomiting. The main cause of nausea is stomach diseases, such as gastritis. Systemic poisoning can also cause nausea. Some people even feel nauseous when they see or smell certain disgusting things and odors. Vomiting is a phenomenon in which food in the stomach returns to the mouth through the esophagus and is spit out of the body. Vomiting can expel harmful substances from the body and has a protective effect.

3. Caused by colitis

Colitis refers to inflammatory lesions of the colon caused by various reasons. The main clinical manifestations are diarrhea, abdominal pain, mucus and bloody stools, tenesmus, and even constipation, inability to defecate for several days; often accompanied by weight loss and fatigue, and the symptoms often recur. According to different causes, colitis can be divided into ulcerative colitis, ischemic colitis, pseudomembranous colitis, etc.

The stools contain mucus, pus and blood. In mild cases, it occurs 3 to 4 times a day, and in severe cases, it occurs dozens of times a day, or diarrhea and constipation occur alternately.

Mild patients have no abdominal pain or only abdominal discomfort. Generally, there is mild to moderate abdominal pain, which is paroxysmal pain in the left lower abdomen or lower abdomen, involving the entire abdomen, and is relieved after bowel movements.

Constipation occurs when the patient has a bowel movement once every 4 to 5 days, and the stool is like sheep dung. In severe cases, the patient cannot have a bowel movement without taking laxatives.

Other symptoms

Symptoms include abdominal distension, weight loss, fatigue, bowel sounds, insomnia, frequent dreams, and fear of cold.

Diarrhea refers to bowel movements that are significantly more frequent than usual, with loose stools, increased water content, and undigested food or pus, blood, or mucus. Diarrhea is often accompanied by symptoms such as the urge to defecate, anal discomfort, and incontinence. You can take some Chen Xianglu Bailu to regulate your stomach, and pay more attention to dietary adjustments. During the illness, you must eat less or no spicy, fried and other irritating foods, and eat more easily digestible foods. In addition, you must maintain a regular lifestyle, do not stay up late often, and do not drink alcohol and coffee.

What to do if you have diarrhea and nausea

1. Control infection: Select appropriate antibiotics for treatment based on the pathogenic bacteria. Generally, antibiotics such as ampicillin, gentamicin, co-trimoxazole, and fluazifop can be used.

2. Fluid replacement: Mild dehydration can be treated with oral rehydration salts, while severe dehydration can be treated with intravenous infusion.

3. Treatment of shock: adjust microcirculation disorders, correct acidosis, and use vasodilators and alkaline drugs.

4. Symptomatic supportive treatment: Antidiarrheals can be used for those who have excessive diarrhea. Symptomatic treatment should be given as soon as possible if there is heart failure, cerebral edema, shock lung, disseminated intravascular coagulation, etc.

5. Tonify the spleen and earth: The spleen and earth point is on the radial edge of the thumb. The doctor pinches the thumb with the index and thumb of the left hand, and uses the fingertips of the right hand to push along the radial edge of the thumb toward the base of the palm.

6. Rub Banmen: Banmen acupoint is located on the plane of the thenar eminence of the palm. The doctor uses the tip of the right thumb to rotate and rub the thenar eminence of the palm.

7. Massage the Wailaogong point: The Wailaogong point is located in the middle of the back of the palm. The doctor uses the tip of the right index finger to massage the Wailaogong point in the center of the back of the palm.

8. Use the Inner Bagua point: The Inner Bagua point is on the palm. With the palm as the center, draw a circle with a radius of about 2/3 of the distance from the center to the horizontal line at the root of the middle finger. The Inner Bagua point is a circle.
